Overview: <br /> <p>Must reside in Eastern or Central Time Zone.&nbsp;</p> <p><a target="_blank">The Innovation Advisor will play a key role in the discovery, evaluation, and implementation of new revenue-generating opportunities in support of profitable growth for the enterprise.&nbsp;</a></p> <p><a target="_blank">This role will utilize design thinking methodologies and business planning expertise to effectively guide innovation team members and/or business stakeholders in the identification and resolution of a wide array of business opportunities through engagements with Business Units. Evaluate, outline and document the startup cost, business impacts, operational plan and return on investment of new business opportunities. Help manage the process of incubation, proof-of-concept/piloting, and evaluation of initiatives. Close collaboration with executive leadership as well as Business Unit and corporate functions teams across Emerging Markets will be critical to the success in this role.</a></p> <p>The Advisor will manage, coordinate, and establish priorities for filling the innovation and stewarding ideas within the innovation pipeline. Including the planning, design, programming, testing and post-project review of business solutions designed to meet the requirements of various innovation initiatives. The role will utilize innovation knowledge, organizational navigation knowledge, project management expertise, methodology, and coordination to effectively lead team members and other business units in the identification and resolution of a wide array of innovation-related initiatives and solutions. Additionally, the role will provide input into the selection, maintenance and evaluation of new or improved innovation models to determine the best strategic fit for the organization and stay current on late-breaking trends within the health insurance industry to help identify threats, opportunities, and impending business model disruption. Push the limits of the business and our engagement with customers by thinking out of the box and challenging the business norm.<br /><br /></p> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office/remote setting with no unusual hazards. Regular travel is required to visit with the brands and to attend conferences or seminars. Travel volume may fluctuate depending upon the individual project or urgency of the deliverable. At a minimum, the employee can expect to be traveling at least once a quarter for no longer than a week at a time.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Apply design thinking methodologies to deliver innovative solutions.</li> <li>Perform analysis and build business cases of new opportunities to determine the strategic fit for the organization.</li> <li>Design and develop polished PowerPoint presentations to deliver tactical, actionable, and strategic insights.</li> <li>Work in partnership with the business units, executive leadership, and corporate functions, to support the development of strategies, capabilities, technologies, and new lines of business for the Company.</li> <li>Monitor and report on the Innovation team&rsquo;s progress on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.</li> <li>Directly manage the department&rsquo;s innovation process which includes planning, budgeting, reporting, problem solving, risk and issues management, communications, vendor management, and implementation.</li> <li>Create and deliver polished analytical reports summarizing the progress of innovation opportunities within the company&rsquo;s internal innovation management platform.</li> <li>Determine funding requirements for each step in the innovation process.</li> <li>Manage vendor relationships in partnership with Procurement and direct the work of teams sourced to various projects/systems.</li> <li><a target="_blank">Achieve key objectives of Emergent Markets Innovation function.</a></li> <li>Aggressively drive research, adoption and deployment of new technologies which complement our current development roadmaps.</li> <li><a target="_blank">Provide management with regular trend analysis and function reporting.</a></li> <li>Represent company in community and industry, programs and conferences.</li> <li>Mentor and educate business partners and company leadership on the utilization of best practices, resource allocation, project prioritization, plan development, and risk analysis.</li> <li>Participate in developing department goals, objectives, processes, procedures, and systems.</li> <li>Participate in the development of annual departmental budget, monitors results, identifies variances and makes recommendations.</li> <li>Serve as a member of any relevant advisory groups providing project guidance and innovation updates.</li> <li>Work with minimum supervision and exercise sufficient discretion and independent judgment.</li> <li>Maintain confidentiality of innovation research and work efforts.</li> </ul> <p><em><br /><br /></em>This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in healthcare, technology, insurance, business, finance, or related field required.</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s in Business Administration, Public Health, or comparable graduate business education highly preferred.&nbsp;</li> <li>Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.</li> <li>Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum seven years experience including any full-time graduate studies.</li> <li>Experience in the healthcare, finance, and/or technology fields, with responsibility in defining solutions and driving outcomes, including researching, sourcing, developing and evaluating business plans. &nbsp;</li> <li>Four years proved innovation and development experience required.&nbsp;</li> <li><a target="_blank">Proficient in creating well-designed, polished PowerPoint presentations.&nbsp;&nbsp;</a></li> <li>Deep past exposure to navigating entrepreneurial ecosystems highly desirable.</li> <li>Corporate innovation, consulting, venture capital, or startup experience is highly desirable.&nbsp;</li> <li>Health insurance industry experience preferred.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><a target="_blank"><strong>Additional Experience for the Senior Innovation Business Advisor:</strong></a></p> <ul> <li>Minimum ten years experience including any full-time graduate studies.</li>
