Overview: <br />Responsible for identifying, collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data to evaluate issues that support prospective business decisions. Coordinate projects for senior management.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in a remote&nbsp;setting with no unusual hazards.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Research, analyze, identify, and evaluate data from assigned problems to evaluate existing and potential trends and issues.</li> <li>Possess and maintain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of BCBSM business, products, programs (including provider data, networks, etc.), corporate organizational structure (including functional responsibilities), and basic research principles/methodologies.</li> <li>Assist in the management and monitoring of multiple projects simultaneously by establishing project plans and objectives to ensure goal attainment within defined parameters.</li> <li>Communicate results of analysis to management via reports/presentations and assist management in implementing programs that provide solutions.</li> <li>Recommend, communicate, and implement solutions to identified problems/root cause of issues.</li> <li>Provide expertise and guidance to unit and corporate staff as required.</li> <li>Represent and participate in group or committee discussions.</li> <li>Provides technical, data, and software support.</li> <li>Leads and participates, with some direction, in data solutions projects.</li> <li>Provides design, programming, testing, validation, and data expertise for simple and moderately complex projects and ad hoc requests.</li> <li>Presents data and solutions to internal and/or external customers in a logical way.</li> <li>Provides documentation, data support, and analysis for usage of departmental sandbox.</li> <li>Standardizes, cleans, and shares data.</li> <li>Creates and maintains data-centric product solutions, including third-party program integrations.</li> <li>Supports various reporting activities and continuously strives toward automation.</li> <li>Completes ad hoc data and analytic requests as assigned.</li> <li>Competent in SAS (Base, Macro, Graph, Email); Visio; Visual Basic for automation in Excel, Visio, Access, PowerPoint; SQL (Oracle, SQL/Server); ETL into Oracle; system tools (Windows/Linux command line coding, scheduling programs in both); creation of file structures (flat, delimited, etc.); Visual Analytics tools (Tableau).</li> <li>Leverage knowledge of Medicare Risk Adjustment methodologies to inform business decisions</li> <li>Develop interactive visual analytics dashboards leveraging tools like Tableau</li> </ul> <br /> <p>This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Requirements: <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li><a target="_blank">Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Health Care, Information Systems, Statistics, or other related field is required.&nbsp;</a></li> <li>Master&rsquo;s Degree in a related field preferred.<a target="_blank">&nbsp;Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree</a>.</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Four (4) or more years of experience in a related field required.</li> </ul> <p><strong><br /><br />SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li><a target="_blank">Strong communication skills are required to understand, interpret, and communicate ideas.</a></li> <li>Strong knowledge and use of existing software packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).</li> <li>Working knowledge of data languages such as SAS or SQL.</li> <li>Strong analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ability to effectively interface with employees at all levels.</li> <li>Understand and apply statistical inference.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> <li>ETL experience is highly preferred.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><br /> <p>The qualifications listed above are intended to represent the minimal skills and experience levels associated with performing the duties and responsibilities contained in this position description.
