Overview: <p>The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting the clinical and operational processes for Stars Adherence and Medicare Part D products. This includes executing medication adherence interventions by promoting program benefits with BCBSM Medicare Part D members. Pharmacy Technician will interact with BCBSM staff pharmacists, interns, and pharmacy students. This position is also responsible for communicating with Medicare members.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Administrative: coordinate enrollment mailings, opt outs and membership letters.</li> <li>Toll free call center operator to schedule daily interactive CMR calls for up to 8 FTE's.</li> <li>Maintain call logs and spreadsheets for Medicare membership.</li> <li>Monitors adherence voicemailbox and facilitate response appropriateness.</li> <li>Maintains adherence program files.</li> <li>Liaison for adherence program in-coming customer service calls.</li> <li>Assists in creating comprehensive medication list for professional staff.</li> <li>Assists in the research, analysis, identification, and evaluation of data from assigned problems to evaluate existing and potential trends and issues.</li> <li>Maintains comprehensive knowledge of government business, products, programs (including provider data, networks, etc.), corporate organizational structure (including functional responsibilities), and basic research principles/methodologies.</li> <li>Assists in monitoring program initiatives, outcomes, and objectives to ensure goal attainment within defined parameters.</li> <li>Assists in development of lines of communication to discuss/review results of analysis to management via reports/presentations and assists management in implementing programs that provide solutions.</li> <li>Assists leadership by investigating, reviewing, and recommending innovative solutions which identify problems/root cause of issues.</li> <li>Assists in identifying resolution of challenges and issues in order to fulfill key corporate objectives and responds to the demands of change management and initiates actions needed to plan, organize, and control team activities.</li> <li>Assists in development of plans, reports, papers, and/or other material creation.</li> <li>Aids and feedback to corporate staff as required.</li> <li>Assists with and documents feedback between corporate business areas and participates in group or committee discussions.</li> </ul> <p><em>This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position.&nbsp; Other relevant essential functions may be required.</em></p>
Requirements: <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <p>High School Graduate of GED equivalent required. Two (2) years of college preferred.</p> <p>Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) Required.</p> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Two (2) years&rsquo; experience in retail or hospital Pharmacy required.</li> <li>Knowledge of prescription drug names, therapeutic classes and claims processing</li> <li>Experience with Medicare Part D prescription benefits may be preferred for some positions</li> </ul> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong customer service skills.</li> <li>Computer Literate (Microsoft Office Products).</li> <li>Knowledge of Medicare Part D; Prescription Drug Benefit.</li> <li>Strong verbal and written skills to communicate complex ideas.</li> <li>Ability to develop project management, meeting process, and presentation skills.</li> <li>Strong ability to work independently and direct the efforts of others.</li> <li>Strong knowledge and use of existing software packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).</li> <li>Ability to work independently, within a team environment, and communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels.</li> <li>Knowledge of pharmacy claims processing</li> <li>Understanding of formularies and utilization management edits</li> <li>Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.&nbsp; Ability to write simple correspondence.&nbsp; Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.</li> <li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.&nbsp; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.</li> </ul> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.&nbsp;</p>
