Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Research, analyze, identify, and evaluate data from assigned problems to evaluate existing and potential trends and issues.</li> <li>Possess and maintain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of BCBSM business, products, programs (including provider data, networks, etc.), corporate organizational structure (including functional responsibilities), and basic research principles/methodologies.</li> <li>Assist in the management and monitoring of multiple projects simultaneously by establishing project plans and objectives to ensure goal attainment within defined parameters.</li> <li>Communicate results of analysis to management via reports/presentations and assist management in implementing programs that provide solutions.</li> <li>Recommend, communicate, and implement solutions to identified problems/root cause of issues.</li> <li>Provide expertise and guidance to unit and corporate staff as required.</li> <li>Represent and participate in group or committee discussions.</li> <li>Develops, maintains and manages advanced reporting, analytics and dashboards through use of a business intelligence solution, such as Tableau or PowerBI.</li> <li>Conducts extensive and thorough analysis of HEDIS/Stars measures using software such as SAS/SQL to inform targeting and overall strategy.</li> <li>May be asked to apply advanced statistical methodology to answer specific questions or problems, which includes but is not limited to predictive analytics, multiple linear regression, multiple logic regression, trend analysis, hierarchical linear modeling, generalized linear mixed models and sampling techniques.</li> </ul> <br /> <p>This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Health Care, Information Systems, Statistics or other related field is required.</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s Degree in related field preferred.</li> <li>Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Four (4) or more years of experience in related field required.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong communication skills are required to understand, interpret, and communicate ideas.</li> <li>Strong knowledge and use of existing software packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).</li> <li>Working knowledge of data languages such as SAS or SQL.</li> <li>Strong analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ability to effectively interface with employees at all levels.</li> <li>Understand and apply statistical inference.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.</li> <li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.</li> <li>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
