Overview: <p>As a team member, the Quality Assurance Technician monitors, samples, and records food-safe production practices throughout the facility. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Notify management of observed needs on the production floor relating to quality or food safety.</li> <li>Support compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, guidelines and governance under the FGF quality Manual and the food safety and quality programs.</li> <li>Investigate and analyze product or raw material quality problems and develop, recommend, and implement corrective measures as necessary</li> <li>Fry off samples and evaluate results</li> <li>Audit sample data taken for use in the implementation of the plant&rsquo;s IPM (Integrated Process Management) System</li> <li>Identify process problems through the use of statistical analysis</li> <li>Suggest and implement corrective measures to improve the manufacturing processes</li> <li>Record and communicate results through reports, meetings, and voicemail as required</li> <li>Monitor incoming raw materials to ensure materials meet our specifications</li> <li>Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards as well as HAACP compliance and other food safety and workplace safety initiatives</li> <li>Support activities of other departments such as Production, Dry Warehouse, and Sanitation through auditing</li> <li>Communicate with other departments to ensure that substandard product is identified</li> <li>Ensure that substandard product is not packed and/or shipped and that it is disposed of as waste, rework or thrift inventory</li> <li>Assist in the development of standards and procedures for new and existing products</li> <li>Lead and contribute to the efforts of Continuous Improvement Teams</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /><ul><li>High School diploma or GED equivalent </li><li>2-year degree in laboratory / food science, or equivalent prior experience in food quality assurance</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, SPC fundamentals, and laboratory skills</li><li>Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and food safety compliance</li><li>Solid computer proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint are essential</li><li>Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills</li><li>Ability to function and contribute in a team environment</li><li>AIB or other food industry training is a plus</li><li>Saturday Work required (most weekends)</li><li>Ability to speak, read, and write English</li><li>Ability to visually inspect product and facility </li></ul> <br />
