Overview: We are looking for a seasoned Environmental Project Manager to join our team, specializing in downstream oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in the downstream oil and gas sector along with robust project management abilities. This role involves approximately 80% office work and 20% fieldwork, focusing on overseeing project progress and client interactions.<br /> <br />The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for project management by delivering various projects within the Environmental Services Division. Operating in a diverse and competitive environment, this position will manage projects from start to finish, ensuring safe, effective operations with a client-centred focus. Projects will be completed within required guidelines according to schedule, contract specifications, timelines, and budgets to drive successful outcomes for continued growth and success. Collaboration with others will be vital to keeping open lines of communication and maintaining a high standard of service delivery. Responsibilities: <br /><ul><li>Plans and executes projects on a small project scale.</li><li>Communicates with stakeholders.</li><li>Ensures quality and resolves issues.</li><li>Maintains project documentation.</li><li>Manage and prepare work plans, contractor bidding documents, proposal requests, and contractor procurement.</li><li>Management, control, forecast, and monitor all project costs. Monitor site progress against planned work.</li><li>Accountability to and follow-up to ensure:<ul><li>Interfaces between different groups contributing to the project are correctly monitored and managed, including the management of subcontractors in the field.</li><li>All project risks are identified and adequately managed by owning and maintaining the risk register.</li><li>The correct technical input is incorporated into all technical documentation and is approved by the leadership team (if required).</li></ul></li><li>Establish and manage a system of recording, tracking, and progressing all project documentation using the project management software.</li><li>Liaise with government and regulatory contacts to represent clients in their regulatory applications and submissions.</li><li>Support the analysis of environmental and regulatory risks and opportunities for new business considerations.</li><li>Maintain and develop vendor and other professional contacts.</li><li>Participate in training events, project meetings, and team meetings.</li><li>Implement corporate and client safety programs.</li><li>Administrative duties, including claims, invoices, and all other paperwork, are done within timelines.</li><li>Other projects and assignments as required.</li></ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Completion of a Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science, engineering or a related discipline.</li> <li>Must possess or be eligible for professional designation (P.Ag, RP.Bio, P.Eng, P.Geo., etc.)</li> <li>Other education may include business management, project management, or other related technical specialties.</li> <li>Minimum 6 years project management-related experience, preferably in environment-related projects.</li> <li>4+ years of relevant regulatory and environmental consulting experience.</li> <li>Business and Financial Acumen.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well independently and in a team environment.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence decision-makers. While effectively building relationships with key stakeholders.</li> <li>Able to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic and productive team environment.</li> <li>Proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong ability to take the initiative.</li> <li>Proficiency in MS Office suite.</li> <li>Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with individuals from various backgrounds and organizations.</li> <li>Strong teamwork, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills.</li> </ul> <strong>Other important details    </strong><br /> <br />As a condition of employment, qualified applicants who accept the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check.
