Overview: FLINT is eagerly seeking dynamic individuals like you to join our team for the upcoming Turnarounds in Carseland starting in September 2024.<br /><br />We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Advisor to play a crucial role within the FLINT team. Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for defining and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environment policies and practices across all company activities. Your primary focus will be on-site safety, leading and supporting safety activities and initiatives. <br /> <br />As the HSE Advisor, you will actively resolve safety issues, conduct compliance assessments, review incident reports, and maintain safety-related documentation. Your expertise in safety management systems and exceptional communication skills will make you an invaluable asset in delivering safety messages, facilitating safety meetings, and interacting with clients and FLINT team members. <br /> <br />At FLINT, our commitment to excellence relies on our greatest assets: our people. Responsibilities: <br /><ul><li>Leading and supporting the safety activities and initiatives undertaken within FLINT.</li><li>Promoting and ensuring safety compliance in all areas of responsibility and actively resolving safety issues or concerns.</li><li>Reviewing accident/ incident reports for correctness and completeness.</li><li>Conducting periodic checks to assess compliance with FLINT’s HSE standards.</li><li>Evaluating inspection reports to identify unsatisfactory performance trends.</li><li>Preparing monthly safety performance statistics and circulating them to line management.</li><li>Issuing and circulating environmental/ safety literature to enhance and maintain awareness.</li><li>Supporting Field Injury reports and promptly forwarding copies to the HSE Program Coordinator/ WCB Administrator.</li><li>Monitoring and supporting investigation reports, environmental incident reports, medical or first aid cases and reports of damage to property or equipment to verify that corrective action has been completed.</li><li>Actively participating in leadership site safety reviews and worksite observation.</li><li>Ensuring submissions and follow-ups are completed and documented within requested timeframes per company standards.</li><li>Completing with quality all key performance indicators (KPIs) listed on the corporate KPI matrix and the area additions. Reporting and documenting as required.</li><li>Auditing competency training.</li></ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>3-5&nbsp;years&nbsp;in a safety advisor position or experience in a similar role.</li> <li>Turnaround experience is an asset.</li> <li>Maintain safety KPIs for T/A.</li> <li>Review and maintain safety-related documentation.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to multi-task, probe, analyze and&nbsp;solve&nbsp;complex&nbsp;issues.</li> <li>Ability to work in a constantly changing&nbsp;environment&nbsp;and achieve quality standards.</li> <li>Must be familiar with industrial safety&nbsp;management&nbsp;systems.</li> <li>Fully skilled&nbsp;with&nbsp;organizing&nbsp;and setting own priorities; meets deadlines as well as others.</li> <li>High School minimum (or equivalent) with other college or University diploma or certificate preferred.</li> <li>Proficient in English, both written and verbal&nbsp;communication&nbsp;required.</li> <li>Physically capable of performing all necessary duties of the job including but not limited to heavy pulling, pushing and lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing, shoveling, bending, twisting, etc.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Important details</strong></p> <p><em>These positions have been identified as safety-sensitive and will require completion of drug and alcohol testing. </em></p> <p><strong>Why FLINT</strong>&nbsp;</p> <p>FLINT strives every day to be recognized as your employer of choice, modelling our core values not only to our customers but also to our employees.
