This is achieved by developing goals based upon the requirements of the business, communicating, and committing the goals to the organization, securing the resources, and training necessary for goal attainment, tracking and rewarding performance, and accountable for meeting or exceeding all targeted objectives.<br /> <br /> External US Key
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Key responsibilities for this role include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ownership of Formulated Product for Specialty Chemicals Development - SCD (ex: cleaners/strippers/etchants) including development of chemical strategies and ideas that leads to new product development in electronic process chemicals area.</li> <li>Direct and manage Sr. Research Chemists, Associate Chemists and Chemists; requires setting clear project goals, strategy, timing, and commitment to delivering innovative solutions. In addition, individual performance in these areas is expected.</li> <li>Lead Formulated Product&rsquo;s SCD product development globally, including Domestic and Asia (ex: Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, China) regions. Cooperate effectively with Domestic, Taiwan and Japan R&amp;D/Applications managers to coordinate resources in all regions to support global and regional objectives.</li> <li>Develop, review, and approve new technology proposals to optimize productivity of Formulated Products facility assets.</li> <li>Expand FUJIFILM intellectual property in the area of electronic chemicals technology and tracking of competitor patent art in key business areas.</li> <li>Maintain and manage key technology relationships with strategic partners.</li> <li>Develop and communicate technology strategy, objectives, roadmaps, and vision throughout the organization and to key customers to ensure activities are appropriately aligned.</li> <li>Participate in quality audits.</li> <li>Own and drive Design &amp; Development (D&amp;D) Process for the SCD products.</li> <li>Review, develop and document technology transfer protocols, as required.</li> <li>Review customer response and corrective action plans and reports.</li> <li>Interact and communicate with strategic development partners, consultants, suppliers, customers, OEM&rsquo;s and representatives of all FFEM functional organizations to develop and implement new technical strategies and proposals aligned with business needs, resolve personnel and legal issues, review customer opportunities, complaints, and other customer related issues, review FP lab objectives, and performance with FFEM senior management.</li> <li>Own, forecast and manage department budget.</li> <li>Support and participate in environmental, health and safety and quality department programs and requirements.</li> <li>Assist in the development and implementation of Formulated Products business development strategies by providing technical guidance on market needs vs. capability.</li> <li>Review and critique cost and feasibility analyses for new business and development opportunities. Includes evaluation and optimization of SCD formulation total cost and raw material supplier considerations for a stable/robust HVM product, in support of industry leading/competitively priced products.</li> <li>Contribute to customer presentations and visits and champion formulated products related product technologies for FUJIFILM senior management and customers.</li> <li>Attend technical conferences to present FUJIFILM technology and to assess new business development opportunities.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
Requirements: <p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul> <li>PhD inorganic chemistry [Electronic chemicals (cleaners, etchants strippers) preferred]</li> <li>PhD organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry or chemical engineering also considered</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor technologies; specifically process chemical development</li> <li>Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory/management capacity</li> <li>Process development experience preferred</li> <li>Prior Project or Program Management preferred</li> <li>Demonstrated innovative thinking and scientific approach to solve chemical problems</li> <li>Travel Domestic and International; ~30%</li> <li>Experience with and effective working understanding of local business cultures</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively in English (must), as well as Asian languages (ex: Mandarin, Japanese, preferred)</li> <li>Publications and Presentations on record</li> <li>Intellectual Property experience including substantial patent awards</li> <li>Track record of developing and commercializing new enabling products that are securely protected by IP or Trade secret (patents)</li> <li>Knowledge of cleaners, etchants, strippers and removers market, technology, and IP landscape</li> <li>Track record of supervising other chemists</li> <li>Experience in forecasting market needs and translating those needs into development programs that deliver results to meet Time to Market Requirements</li> <li>Excellent communication, people, and leadership skills</li> <li>Customer interaction experience</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>MENTAL &amp; EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Resilience -</strong>&nbsp;Adapting well in the face of workplace stressors, the ability to work effectively and efficiently in high stress and conflict situations, the ability to remain poised under all circumstances, the ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Communication -</strong>&nbsp;The ability to successfully and professionally express and exchange&nbsp;ideas&nbsp;and meanings with all levels of employees in the organization, the ability to interact appropriately with a variety of individuals including customers/clients, the ability to work as an integral part of a team, ability to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust.</li> <li><strong>Reasoning and decision-making -</strong>&nbsp;The ability to understand, remember and follow verbal and written instructions, the ability to reason logically and make sound decisions.</li> <li><strong>Comprehension -</strong>&nbsp;The ability to complete tasks without direct supervision, the ability to simultaneously address multiple complete problems.</li> <li><strong>Organizational skills -</strong>&nbsp;Ability to multitask without loss of efficiency or accuracy, the ability to work and sustain attention with distractions and interruptions, the ability to perform in situations requiring speed, deadlines or productivity quotas.</li> </ul>
