Overview: <p><strong>The Role</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Manages HR responsibilities and initiatives for manufacturing facility in North Kingstown, RI. Initiatives include the day-to-day management of recruitment, training, performance management, benefit and payroll and employee relations to ensure facility compliance with federal and state laws.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Key responsibilities for this role include:</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Employee Relations:</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and implement policies as needed, that are compliant with applicable state law(s), and train and educate managers and employees on the policies, mitigating risk to include understanding of Rhode Island employment laws</li> <li>Provide coaching and advisement on employee-related issues such as professional development, performance, investigations and disciplinary action</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Training:</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage the New-Hire and Benefits orientation process for new hires; Open Enrollment and Health Fairs in conjunction with a Shares Services department</li> <li>Identify training needs based on management&rsquo;s input and work with OD/Training Specialist in soliciting bids/RFQ for training from outside sources when needed/necessary</li> <li>Work with OD/Training Specialist in the creation and delivery of in-house training materials/programs as needed to advance the needs of the RI FEUS organization.</li> <li>Oversee the needs analysis process for professional development and leadership training for high potential employees</li> <li>Assist with the identification of succession backfills and conduct a needs gap between incumbent and successor to ensure timely and complete handoff prior to retirement</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Recruitment Activities:</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage the recruitment activities of top talent including sourcing, interviewing, offer and pre-employment process for RI facility</li> <li>Partner with managers to determine requirements for the position and qualities of an ideal candidate, update job descriptions as needed to ensure compliance</li> <li>Work with managers to create job descriptions and post job descriptions, determining FLSA compliance</li> <li>Manage the job requisition reporting and applicant/interview/hire reports/and compliant reporting as necessary (iCIMS)</li> <li>Develop, determine, and implement recruiting best practices for diverse hourly, non-exempt and exempt positions</li> <li>Forge relationships with outside providers that can continually provide highly qualified candidates for our openings, minimizing time to fill and other standard recruiting metrics</li> <li>Manage Succession Planning initiatives</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Other HR Duties:</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Manage and provide development for HR Representative</li> <li>Responsible for managing the RI Compensation and Performance Management System</li> <li>Manage Payroll Administration for RI location; maintain data integrity of all systems</li> <li>Conduct Assessment of current HR vendor relationships as needed, to ensure quality, timeliness and pricing are competitive to the marketplace</li> <li>Partner with Corporate Shared Service teams on opportunities to develop or share on other partnerships/initiatives that deliver results to our organization</li> <li>Creation and maintenance of standard HR Metrics and reporting for departmental achievements</li> <li>Conduct Job Analysis for the production roles in our organization ensuring cohesiveness and thoroughness to assist in the development of sound job descriptions and training and development needs</li> <li>Manage company event planning activities to include Recognition and Patent Award Programs</li> <li>Manage Fujifilm benefits and plan offerings as needed through a Shared Service environment</li> <li>Participate in the recommendation of industry competitive policies, practices and programs to&nbsp;meet organizational needs to become an &lsquo;employer of choice&rsquo;</li> <li>Participate in Compensation surveys and conduct salary studies for specific roles for all locations to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness</li> <li>Support and participate in Environmental, Health &amp; Safety and quality department programs and requirements; partner with EHS department on share initiatives and projects</li> <li>Other HR duties as assigned to support the effectiveness of the HR Department</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>
Requirements: <p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and a minimum 5 years&rsquo; progressive experience in a Human Resources Manager role, with at least 3 years&rsquo; experience within a manufacturing environment</li> <li>Must have knowledge of employment regulations to include DOL, EEOC and FLSA</li> <li>Strong understanding of Payroll, Benefits and HRIS Administration required</li> <li>Strong understanding of Applicant Tracking systems and electronic Onboarding programs</li> <li>Knowledge of providing HR services to various functions (manufacturing, R&amp;D, quality, sales, marketing, engineering, facilities, information systems, etc.) within an organization; experience in a 24/7 manufacturing setting preferred</li> <li>Strong communicator with the ability to influence and persuade across all levels of the organization, exercising a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, poise, tact and diplomacy to accomplish objectives</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas and to summarize complex issues</li> <li>Previous demonstrated experience as a trainer, creator of training documentation/crafting of needs analysis, preferred</li> <li>Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines</li> <li>Ability to travel when needed to support above mentioned job duties</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>MENTAL &amp; EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Resilience -</strong>&nbsp;Adapting well in the face of workplace stressors, the ability to work effectively and efficiently in high stress and conflict situations, the ability to remain poised under all circumstances, the ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Communication -</strong>&nbsp;The ability to successfully and professionally express and exchange&nbsp;ideas&nbsp;and meanings with all levels of employees in the organization, the ability to interact appropriately with a variety of individuals including customers/clients, the ability to work as an integral part of a team, ability to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust.</li> <li><strong>Reasoning and decision-making -</strong>&nbsp;The ability to understand, remember and follow verbal and written instructions, the ability to reason logically and make sound decisions.</li> <li><strong>Comprehension -</strong>&nbsp;The ability to complete tasks without direct supervision, the ability to simultaneously address multiple complete problems.</li> <li><strong>Organizational skills -</strong>&nbsp;Ability to multitask without loss of efficiency or accuracy, the ability to work and sustain attention with distractions and interruptions, the ability to perform in situations requiring speed, deadlines or productivity quotas.</li> </ul>
