We have an exciting opportunity at our Mesa, AZ facility for a Senior Application Engineer!<br /> <br />With state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Europe, Taiwan, China, Korea and Japan, local sales offices throughout the world and on-site applications support, FUJIFILM Electronic Materials supplies the world's top tier semiconductor manufacturers with a broad array of products and services used throughout the semiconductor manufacturing process.<br /> <br /><strong>The Role</strong><br /> <br />The successful candidate will be responsible for development of CMP processes as well as product introduction and implementation of CMP products at customer sites. The engineer performs formulation optimizations for developing new CMP chemistries. The primary job role is to develop total CMP processes and use all metrology tools at our Mesa, AZ facility. In this role, the engineer will also run product demonstrations for our customers.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Develop, support and improve CMP processes for new &amp; existing products.</li> <li>Act as a CMP process expert in supporting R&amp;D chemists.</li> <li>Investigate chemistry and abrasive interactions with different dielectric and metal films.</li> <li>Fine-tune chemistry to get desired defects and metrology performance for CMP.</li> <li>Support product life cycle, including product characterization and functional testing.</li> <li>Interface with internal and external technical teams.</li> <li>Run product demonstrations for customers in FFEM&rsquo;s applications lab.</li> <li>Provide on-site customer support, both domestic and international.</li> <li>Design, analyze and summarize data using statistical software.</li> <li>Collaborate with technical staff on process/formulation needs with respect to CMP chemistries.</li> <li>Apply fundamental chemistry knowledge.</li> <li>Participates in new product development and commercialization.</li> <li>Ability to work extensively in lab environment &amp; direct technicians to support project needs in an efficient manner.</li> <li>Must be able to communicate and work well with other professionals in a team environment.</li> <li>Job requires standing and working in the lab for a substantial part of every day.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Material Science with a minimum 6 years of industry experience or a Master&rsquo;s Degree and 3 years plus industry experience or Ph.D. with 0 - 2 years of industry experience.</li> <li>Semiconductor industry experience, preferably CMP.</li> <li>Demonstrates analytical ability, chemistry, colloids and interface science required.</li> <li>Understanding of abrasive technology, corrosion protection, and electrochemistry.</li> <li>Highly motivated, creative and detail-oriented individual with a passion for problem solving.</li> <li>Excellent communication, data collection, time management and organizational skills.</li> <li>Proficiency in office software such as MS Excel, Word, PPT and Outlook required. DoE, JMP, data analyses and technical reporting required, experiment modeling desired.</li> <li>Project management experience preferred. Ability to multi-task.</li> <li>Good interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Ability to travel 20% of the time including international travel.</li> <li>Ability to support customers in various regions of the globe</li> </ul>
