Overview: Firefly Children &amp; Family Alliance is currently seeking a Residential Team Leader at our Courage Center shelter in Indianapolis. The Residential Team Leader will support the Courage Center program, Courage Center leadership, and the Teaching Specialists and will promote positive behavior changes for youth in the Courage Center care facility through education of sound academic, social, and independent living skills.<br /> <p>Firefly Children &amp; Family Alliance is looking for a Residential Team Leader for the 2nd shift position.</p> <p>This position will be Wednesday through Friday 2:30 pm-10:30pm and Saturday 6:30am-10:30pm</p>
Responsibilities: <br />Staff Guidance (60%)<br /> <ul> <li>Collaborate with all Courage Center staff to achieve daily care of children in the Courage Center</li> <li>Consultation with program leadership regarding hiring, training, developing and holding staff accountable to program and service standards</li> <li>Encourage a positive team environment that is supportive of staff with clear expectations and</li> <li>Coach staff on positive interactions with children while on the unit</li> <li>Monitor a daily, structured routine that includes extra-curricular activities in and outside of the Courage Center to promote healthy habits based on children's developmental needs</li> <li>Oversee the coordination of child transportation for school, appointments, and in emergencies</li> <li>Purposefully lead Teaching Specialists in using TFM procedures and prescribed systems to make progress on each youth's individualized behavior management plan</li> <li>Diligently oversee medication administration according to agency policy and maintain medication logs</li> <li>Meticulously maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the Courage Center in compliance with regulations</li> </ul> Resident Guidance (40%)<br /> <ul> <li>Provide support to children as outlined in each behavior care plan using the Teaching Family Model (TFM)</li> <li>Carefully manage the intake and discharge of children; oversee and document family contact with children</li> <li>Urgently respond to crises by implementing appropriate verbal de-escalation techniques from the TFM or prescribed in an individualized behavior support plan, attempt to reduce or eliminate the need for physical restraint</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Human Services field, Associate's degree plus two years' experience, OR qualified experience with certificate in the Teaching Family Model.</li> <li>COVID vaccination is required with reasonable accommodations based on disability and religion.</li> <li>Previous leadership experience in a residential setting</li> <li>You must be at least 21 years of age</li> <li>Valid driver's license with valid insurance</li> </ul>
