That's where Firefly Children and Family Alliance stands out from the crowd. As one of our interns, you'll be able to directly make an impact on the lives of thousands of Indiana children, families, and adults.</strong></p> <p>Firefly is currently seeking an&nbsp;<strong>Intern</strong>&nbsp;for our Home Based program. As an intern with Firefly, you will have the ability to shadow and gain a critical understanding of the rewards and challenges of the social services field. Our interns come out of our program with a key understanding of their impending careers and equipped with real world expectations.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Create learning objectives to meet school program expectations for student learning plan with your supervisor.</li> <li>Learn about &amp; engage in the processes &amp; procedures of home-based programming.</li> <li>Shadow field staff and interact with referral families/individuals.</li> <li>Participate in individual &amp; group supervision, and team meetings.</li> <li>Assist program staff, including but not limited to director, case managers, therapists and administrative staff.</li> <li>Learn about various Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) &amp; apply to various cases.</li> <li>Develop and maintain positive working relationships with our partner agency, Department of Child Services (DCS).</li> <li>Engage in agency offered training.</li> <li>Assist with data entry as needed.</li> <li>Performs other related duties, as assigned.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>As a Home Based Intern, you may meet families challenged by:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Child neglect and abuse</li> <li>Drug and alcohol addiction</li> <li>Mental health crisis</li> <li>Housing insecurity</li> <li>Parent/child conflicts</li> <li>Intimate partner violence</li> </ul> <p><strong>Your work with families may involve:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Home visits</li> <li>Supervised parenting time</li> <li>Assessments</li> <li>Court observations</li> <li>Case documentation</li> </ul> <p><br />*all as a shadow with field staff*</p>
