In this position you will be responsible for community outreach to educate, promote and market Safe Sleep practices. You will also assist with coordinating events highlighting safe sleep practices, collaborating with many different agencies, and working to adequately share safe sleep education throughout the region being served. The area served by this position will span through DCS regions 7,11 and 12 including Connersville, Muncie and Anderson. Responsibilities: <p><strong>Community Engagement, Education, and Outreach (100%)<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Motivate and collaborate with various community entities in order to identify and develop professional relationships and partnerships.</li> <li>Educate the community through Safe Sleep classes.</li> <li>Identify, contact and maintain knowledge of formal and informal resources in the community that provide safe sleep education to agencies.</li> <li>Effectively and professionally represent the agency when promoting Safe Sleep at events, meetings, and other outreach activities.</li> <li>Effectively coordinate, plan and attend events for the community with an emphasis on safe sleep education. This will include events held on evenings and weekends.</li> <li>Effectively and professionally share success stories, engage families to make referrals, and speak with community members in order to maintain or increase the number of clients being served.</li> <li>Effectively monitor program brochures and promotional materials for ongoing accuracy and availability.</li> <li>Act as a community liaison when needed, to ensure clients receive appropriate services.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Associate degree or higher OR High school diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) (previously GED) with a minimum of two years&rsquo; experience working with children and families. College degree preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of and proximity to the community being served and resources available.</li> <li>Two or more years of experience in social service for children or families.</li> <li>Experience in child development.</li> <li>Must have a valid driver's license with less than 6 points and auto insurance.</li> <li>Understanding of and ability to work with the community.</li> <li>Motivated to ensure work quality meets established guidelines.</li> <li>Collaborative and interacts well with a broad spectrum of individuals.</li> <li>Demonstrate appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences.</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <h3><strong><em>At Firefly Children and Family Alliance, we are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
