Work location is subject to change based on business needs. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About this Role:</strong></p> A Release Engineering Developer is responsible for software deploys and all associated processes. This individual is responsible for working closely with the application teams to ensure software is ready, tested, and approved to deploy. In addition to overseeing timely software releases, our release Engineers have a continuous improvement mindset looking to better our processes. <br /><br />This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to replace legacy mainframe release processes with modern CI/CD pipelines leveraging GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCode deploy, etc. This position will help enable true DevOps capabilities for our mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe release engineering along with experience with modern software deploy methods. <p>&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Key Accountabilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Create a CI/CD build pipeline for mainframe source code version control</li> <li>Release Analyst responsible for the Mainframe Release Management lifecycle involving stages such as scheduling the release, coordinating between teams, and deployment of mainframe release for Q and Prod</li> <li>Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release</li> <li>Knowledge of CA7 &ndash; Scheduling</li> <li>Independently performs and assists other team members researching questions, solving problems, and participating in on-call rotation.</li> <li>Expected to learn assigned applications and understand how they integrate with other systems.</li> <li>Design and develop code that glues together various mainframe source code migration tools with our existing environments</li> <li>Implement true DevOps tools into the mainframe build pipeline such as GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCode deploy, etc.</li> <li>Develop audit processes to ensure proper oversight of mainframe code deployments</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Require Skills/Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>At least 5 years of relevant experience building deploy pipelines or a release engineer</li> <li>Understanding and experience working in an Agile environment is a plus</li> <li>Strong communication, facilitation, collaboration, and organizational skills</li> <li>Continuous improvement and demonstratable experience of improving process</li> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a technology-related discipline or equivalent experience is required</li> <li>Onsite/Remote designation is at Delivery Manager discretion</li> </ul>
