FlexTech High School has two successful project-based high schools in Metro-Detroit and will be adding a new school this Fall in Mid-Michigan. We're looking for a school leader with an entrepreneurial spirit to help launch and grow this innovative school model. This position needs a hard-working leader that is excited about engaging students in new and unique ways to help them find academic, personal and social success.

Responsibilities: <p>The School Leader:</p> <ul> <li>Is responsible for communicating the mission and purpose of the Academy to all stakeholders.</li> <li>Is responsible for establishing positive relationships with students, families and staff to develop a culture that fulfills the mission of the Academy.</li> <li>Will select, supervise, mentor and evaluate assigned school staff and plan necessary professional development.</li> <li>Is the instructional leader - will interpret data and implement instructional and procedural strategies that reflect high expectations for students and staff.</li> <li>Is responsible for daily operations at the Academy with regard to safety, compliance and living within the approved Academy budget.</li> <li>Will demonstrate innovative ways of responding to challenges that reflect a dedication and belief that all children can succeed.</li> <li>Will perform other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in administration, supervision, curriculum or related areas.</li> <li>Meet the State school administrator&rsquo;s certification or continuing education requirement.</li> <li>Five years of successful teaching experience or related experience with students.</li> <li>Able to foster a student-centered learning environment.</li> <li>Demonstrate advanced skills in project management.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Desirable Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of state and local performance assessment.</li> <li>Experience facilitating project-based learning or knowledge of project-based or inquiry based learning.</li> <li>Experience working in a blended or online school environment.</li> </ul>
