Overview: The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading technology project and systems implementations related to Support Service and Infrastructure areas. You will use your knowledge of accepted project methodology practices for the following phases of a project (Discovery, Design, Development, Deployment and Disengagement). Responsibilities consist of creating project definition documents, detailed planning through implementation, applying project management methodology to manage scope, budget, and timing. You are also responsible for project coordination while providing direction for the entire project team. The PM is a key contributor, whose work is critical to project success. You will influence leadership and customer management levels and may be called on to consult for other project managers and department heads. You will provide input to project-related decisions and assist in working directly with end users to gather the requirements needed to generate the specifications in order to develop the applications and components<br/><br/>
Responsibilities: <UL><LI>Gathers project requirements from the business, develop project definition document and gain approval</LI><LI>Builds, revises, and updates project plans as required</LI><LI>Tracks and reports on project budget and spend</LI><LI>Coordinates project implementation monitoring progress on a daily, weekly, monthly basis</LI><LI>Leads periodic Steering Committee meetings with management / stakeholders</LI><LI>Plans / manages integration and implementation of new technology</LI><LI>Works with Support Service, Infrastructure and Applications departments on piloting & implementation of new technologies</LI><LI>Identifies and works with business on implementing training of new technology when appropriate</LI><LI>Interfaces and directs vendors to facilitate successful project implementation</LI><LI>Determines potential project barriers and identifies critical path adjustments</LI><LI>Seen as the lead for system-wide/cross-functional team management</LI><LI>Lead subject matter expert, who guides/provides project direction for entire project or team</LI><LI>Responsible for solving highly complex problems for several projects concurrently</LI><LI>Creates and delivers data-driven progress reports as needed</LI><LI>Consults with colleagues concerning current and future potential projects</LI><LI>Investigates, develops and implements skills/tools to improve the project management methodologies</LI></UL>
Requirements: Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have<UL><LI>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems</LI><LI>Five plus years of experience in Project Management preferably in a Retail Store environment</LI><LI>Knowledge of Retail store business systems, related hardware, and technologies</LI><LI>Knowledge of AGILE project methodology</LI><LI>Knowledge of PMBOK methodologies, PMI Certification a plus</LI><LI>ITIL Methodology Certified a plus</LI><LI>Has developed/improved project management processes and transferred knowledge into IT as a whole</LI><LI>Sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems</LI><LI>Must be well-organized, efficient, and detail-oriented</LI><LI>Able to prioritize and provide timely resolution to issues and requests</LI><LI>Able to lead a diverse team of IT professionals, vendors and business partners</LI><LI>Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team</LI><LI>Ability to work under minimal supervision required</LI><LI>Must be a good communicator – taking complex issues and projects and breaking them down to easily understood concepts within IT and with the business</LI><LI>Must possess excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills</LI><LI>Experience reporting project status to senior management</LI><LI>Experienced in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Visio programs, Smartsheets, Project and Resource portfolio tools</LI><LI>On-call after hours may be required at times</LI><LI>Some travel may be required</LI></UL>
