Overview: <p>We have a unique and exciting opportunity for a strategic HR leader to join our HR Leadership team. We are looking for a Director, Business Human Resources to partner with our R&amp;D, Quality, and Operations organizations across multiple facilities.&nbsp; You will serve as a key business partner and will lend HR expertise to business strategy along with focusing on organizational effectiveness, employee relations, performance management, global HR priorities, and diversity. The Director will have the flexibility to design and implement company-wide initiatives that address business needs and will diagnose issues unique to Glaukos and develop tailored solutions.</p> <p>This position is hybrid and will be based part-time out of our Aliso Viejo, CA office and part-time remote.</p>
Responsibilities: <p>HR Consulting and Business Partnership:</p> <ul> <li>Determine the requirements of the business by performing an assessment to identify human-resource-related issues</li> <li>Use analytical approaches to design HR programs that meet future business needs</li> <li>Challenge and influence business leaders thinking, providing alternative insights</li> <li>Proactively identify potential challenges and look for ways to innovate and improve</li> <li>Regularly engages with employees and assesses performance and provides developmental feedback to management that will increase organizational effectiveness</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Employee Relations:</p> <ul> <li>Proactively address changes in the business landscape that impact human capital issues</li> <li>Effectively communicates and interprets HR policies and practices for business partners.</li> <li>Proactively identifies tools/programs to retain employees</li> <li>Coaches managers on handling complex issues as well as large-scale organizational issues.</li> <li>Conducts investigations, prepares formal responses, recommends actions, coaches managers on Performance Plans, and determines when to escalate employee relations issues as appropriate</li> </ul> <p>Recruitment:</p> <ul> <li>In partnership with talent acquisition, own support recruitment efforts globally for assigned clients</li> <li>Build an Organizational talent pipeline by planning and contributing to key developmental experiences (leadership, technical, global perspective)</li> </ul> <p>Culture</p> <ul> <li>Creates and implements programs that enhance Company&rsquo;s corporate culture, and promote loyalty among employees</li> <li>Manages Employee Engagement Surveys/Pulse Surveys including analysis and creating a plan of action to address identified concerns</li> </ul> <p>Talent Management:</p> <ul> <li>Own performance management process globally for Glaukos for assigned clients</li> <li>Prepares and manages client identification of key talent and succession planning.&nbsp; Devises plans to enable development</li> <li>Participates and/or facilitates the talent review process for the business, including identification of high potential diversity candidates</li> <li>Develops and implements HR tactics designed to deliver results against Global HR priorities</li> <li>Consults with managers regarding the representation of minority employees through effective recruiting and retention programs</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree required, an MS or MBA degree preferred. SPHR, SHRM-SCP Certification a plus</li> <li>Minimum 15 years of Human Resource experience.&nbsp; Experience must include prior HR Business Partner roles, experience with organizational design, and working with executive management to identify human capital solutions that support the organizational strategy</li> <li>Experience working for medical device, pharmaceutical or related industry, directly supporting Research &amp; Development and related teams strongly preferred</li> <li>Understand, articulate, and translate Business Strategy into HR Initiatives.&nbsp;</li> <li>Creative, out-of-the-box thinking.&nbsp; Willing to recommend, non-traditional HR solutions or interventions, where appropriate</li> <li>Must possess the ability to interact with all levels, work independently, and able to see projects through conclusion/implementation</li> <li>Knowledge of legal and regulatory factors required to manage employee relations issues within California as well as across the United States.</li> <li>Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet customer demand.
