Overview: <p>If you enjoy using innovative technology to tackle challenging science problems and working in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment, keep reading to learn more about the Research Scientist internship opportunity.</p> <p>Glaukos is seeking a Research Scientist intern to join our Applied Research team to work on innovative problems. The successful applicant will gain knowledge and experience developing software for laboratory equipment to support the development of various imaging technologies.</p> <p>He/she will work with a team of highly skilled engineers and scientists that leverage multidisciplinary backgrounds to provide innovative solutions to our customers.</p>
Responsibilities: <p>We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist intern (Junior/ Senior year student and graduate students) that will focus on developing software for laboratory equipment. As well as:</p> <ul> <li>Connect and aid members of the Applied Research Team in their development of ex-vivo imaging technologies in corneal health research.</li> <li>Create software (including GUI) for laboratory equipment to develop and optimize experimental protocols/methodologies in the laboratory.</li> <li>Build/optimize algorithms for day-to-day data collection and processing large datasets.</li> <li>Develop/apply appropriate data analysis techniques.</li> <li>Aid members of the Software/Applied Research Team in their development of novel ophthalmic medical device technologies.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Major in Computer Science, Software, Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical engineering is preferred.</li> <li>Practice working with object-oriented programming in C++, Python, or MATLAB.</li> <li>Experience programming GUIs in Visual Studio, Qt, or similar IDEs.</li> <li>Skilled working with software control systems / device SDKs/APIs.</li> <li>Experience working with large datasets and parallel processing algorithms.</li> <li>Familiarity with Experimental design and data analysis methods.</li> <li>Multidisciplinary experience in biomedical/biomechanics/programming/electronics.</li> <li>Practice working with ex-vivo tissues, in particular corneas a pulsus.
