Overview: <p>The Dental Assistant (DA) Float provides assistance to the dentist, and dental department in various aspects of patient care. The DA Float is required to travel on a regular basis to all GVHC sites.</p> <p>This position will support all 12 Dental Clinics in Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin Counties.</p> <p>Schedule is Monday - Friday, working from 7:45am - 4:30pm. <strong>This is a full-time position.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Compensation: </strong>$22.10 - $23.05 per hour, plus daily $18.00 bonus for working scheduled days</p> <p>Golden Valley Health Centers offers excellent benefits including Medical: (0 Deductible / $2,000 Individual; $4,000 Family Out-of-Pocket Max), excellent PPO coverages; Dental; Vision; 403(b) with match, FSA plans, gym discounts, and so much more!</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Prepare tray set-up, sterilize instruments.</li> <li>Pass and receive instruments.</li> <li>Mix cements, amalgam and impression materials.</li> <li>Oral evacuation and retraction.</li> <li>Seat, prepare, and dismiss patients.</li> <li>Receive/place telephone calls.</li> <li>Appointment control.</li> <li>Inventory control.</li> <li>Routine maintenance of equipment.</li> <li>Operatory preparation and clean-up.</li> <li>Oral hygiene instruction.</li> <li>Chart patient&rsquo;s health care information.</li> <li>Take patient&rsquo;s blood pressure and oral temperature.</li> <li>Develop and trim diagnostic casts.</li> <li>Pour and trim diagnostic casts.</li> <li>Fabricate custom trays.</li> <li>Take radiographs.</li> <li>Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Knowledge: Dental terminology and dental office procedures. General knowledge of office procedures.&nbsp;</li> <li>Skills: General computer skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability: Independently perform dental procedures. Document patient information in the electronic medical record. Take and pass dental assistant educational courses as required by the state of California.</li> <li>Accommodate changes in daily and hourly schedules; travel to all sites is required, including during the workday.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Physical Demands &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and push up to 75 pounds (on wheels).</li> <li>Must be able to hear on the phone and in-person.&nbsp;</li> <li>Speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.</li> <li>Must have vision with or without lenses adequate to read a computer screen, forms and clinical and administrative documents.</li> <li>Must have high manual dexterity.</li> <li>Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering and feeling.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Work Environment &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Noise level in the work environment is moderate.<br /><br /><br /></p> <p><strong>Education/Experience Requirements&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li> <li>Current California certification in radiography.</li> <li>Current CPR certification &ndash; American Heart Association, Basic Life Support.</li> <li>One (1) year of dental assistant experience preferred.</li> <li>Bilingual &ndash; English/Spanish preferred.</li> <li>Acceptable driving record, a valid CDL and liability vehicle insurance required.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li> </ul>
