Overview: &nbsp;A Bellperson/storyteller provides service for both internal and external guests, while ensuring a thorough check-in and check-out experience that will exceed our guest&rsquo;s expectations. The Bellperson/storyteller would need to possess&nbsp;superior communication and presentation skills to enable them to be a &lsquo;whip smart&rsquo; story teller.
Responsibilities: Guest Services Host/Storyteller&rsquo;s Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following<br /><br /> <ul> <li>Following the Graduate Pledge of Service</li> <li>Following the &ldquo;10-5&rdquo; rule by making eye contact with any guest within 10 feet and acknowledging them verbally and with a smile once they are within 5 feet</li> <li>Responsible for greeting guest, assisting with baggage and delivering guest packages.</li> <li>Answer questions thoroughly regarding the rooms, property and community</li> <li>Handle guest concerns, following up to ensure 100% satisfaction</li> <li>Escort guests throughout the Hotel</li> <li>Complete shift checklists</li> <li>Handle faxes and packages for guests and associates</li> <li>Communicate efficiently with Housekeeping, Engineering and other departments.</li> <li>Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers</li> <li>Clean and maintain Front Desk and lobby areas</li> <li>Arrange restaurant reservations, taxis, tours, walking directions, etc.</li> <li>Making decisions and solving Problems, analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems</li> <li>Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with employees and hotel guests</li> <li>Constantly updating knowledge of the property and industry</li> <li>Thinking creatively and &ldquo;outside the box&rdquo; to service guests and handle issues</li> <li>Following up to ensure 100% satisfaction on all concerns and requests</li> <li>Provide feedback, concerns, opinions, etc. to supervisors</li> <li>Become a local compass or expert on the local area</li> <li>Be knowledgeable about the d&eacute;cor in the lobby and guest rooms and be able to tell their &lsquo;story&rsquo;</li> <li>Attend and engage in Daily &ldquo;Study Group&rdquo; Pre-shift Meetings</li> <li>Create a unique Experience for each guest by reading their cues</li> <li>Use the &lsquo;SMARTER&rsquo; check in approach</li> <li>Executing others duties as assigned by management</li> </ul> Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, employee may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the hotel
Requirements: SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY <br />The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using another combination of skills and abilities. <br /><br /> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions and put tasks in order</li> <li>Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail</li> <li>Demonstrated willingness to assist others and provide customer service to hotel guests.</li> <li>Must be able to occasionally bend, twist, pivot, and&nbsp;stoop to assist guests with their personal belongings</li> <li>Must be able to lift, push, pull at least&nbsp;60 lbs</li> <li>Must be able to stand for an 8 hour shift.</li> <li>Must be able to manage time/working pace effectively</li> </ul> QUALIFICATIONS<br />Education: High School diploma or GED preferred<br />Experience:Six (6) months&nbsp;customer service&nbsp;experience preferred. <br />Grooming: All employees must comply with appearance and grooming policy<br /><br />Note: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day.
