Overview: <p>Role Summary/Purpose:</p> <p>The Sales Engineer will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining strong, productive working relationships with electrical contractors, end users, channel partners (distributors, VAR&rsquo;s, Generator Dealers), and influencers including engineers and consultants, selling GE&rsquo;s Critical Power product line (Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), and Paralleling Switchgear (PSG)).</p>
Responsibilities: <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <p>As the Sales Engineer, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain productive working relationships with strategic customers within assigned territory at all levels of their organizations</li> <li>Plan and implement sales strategies to maximize market share and margin; motivate customers to prefer GLEP&rsquo;s portfolio over the competition</li> <li>Identify and track upcoming sales opportunities and influence customer specifications</li> <li>Conduct technical presentations to create preference</li> <li>Provide training, joint sales calls and applications support</li> <li>Introduce new products to existing customer base and identify target customers</li> <li>Meet or exceed assigned volume and margin measurements</li> <li>Perform take-off's and develop cost effective proposals from project plans and specs and negotiate and secure project orders</li> <li>Provide market feedback, competitive intelligence and hit-rate information to business and sales leadership</li> <li>Create customer marketing programs (New Productive Introduction (NPI) launch, training) to promote GLEP products and services</li> <li>Mine construction data (Dodge, bid board) to identify key trends in marketplace and new product needs</li> <li>Participate in industry and local construction organizations to build relationships</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>Qualifications/Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of sales experience</li> </ul> <p>Eligibility Requirement:</p> <ul> <li>Ability and willingness to drive automobile to call on customers</li> <li>Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license</li> </ul> <p>Desired Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of electrical industry and critical power distribution products</li> <li>Strong interpersonal and leadership skills</li> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering</li> <li>Experience working with generator dealers, electrical contractors, industrial users, consultants</li> <li>Strong technical application, take-off, and proposal development skills</li> <li>Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs</li> <li>Strong coordination and influencing skills</li> <li>Knowledge of customer financial drivers / needs</li> <li>Ability to utilize analytical software and sales tools</li> <li>Strong oral, written communication skills and presentation skills</li> </ul>
