Based out of our Montreal office, this is an opportunity to provide input into and drive the employee engagement strategy, implement employee solutions and act as the first point of contact for a number of provincial offices. You will grow into an HR Manager role and beyond.</p> <p><strong>Who you are</strong></p> <p>You are an HR Generalist or Recruiter looking to return to a Generalist position. You want to grow your career at a national foundation where you can gain exposure to working across multiple provinces, supporting employees in numerous locations. You want a strategic role that blends face-to-face employee interactions with evolving business processes to help define culture.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>How you will make an impact every day. You will focus on:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Recruitment and resourcing. You will support hiring managers and oversee the end-to-end process including developing job descriptions, assessing and planning for recruitment needs, interviewing, reference checking, preparing offer letters and onboarding.</li> <li>Employee relations. You will provide advice and counsel on a range of employee relations issues including coaching managers on performance improvement discussions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and employment standards, facilitating all terminations to ensure Foundation standards and best practices are followed.</li> <li>Performance and compensation management. You will support the annual performance appraisal and compensation program roll out and work with leaders to help identify and assess HR issues that may be affecting the business performance of the team.</li> <li>Disability management. You will proactively work with managers to provide advice and counsel on absence management cases, including Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability. You will coordinate documentation follow-up, ensure compliance with standards and policies and facilitate return to work/accommodation requirements.</li> <li>HR policies and procedures. You will educate and ensure managers know their accountabilities and obligations in relation to employee management and employee data administration.</li> <li>Special Projects. You will assist in special projects supporting National initiatives.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. You have a diploma or degree in a relevant field combined with CHRP Certification.</li> <li>The language. You are fluent in English and French.</li> <li>The experience. You have 5 years of progressive experience in all facets of human resources from recruiting to policy drafting, from process implementation to employee relations and more.</li> <li>The planning capability. You are strategic with proven critical thinking. You can assess and create plans to mitigate risk.</li> <li>The exposure. You possess strong integrity and credibility with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information. You have a broad range of exposure in HR from implementing strategy and effectively managing HR programs to dealing with employee relations issues and investigations.</li> <li>The knowledge. You are up-to-date on Canadian HR Legislation and employment laws. You can convey and interpret human resources policies and procedures, as well as related legislation and regulations. You can provide confident consultative advice to management and employees on all aspects of professional development, organizational change and performance with business partners across multiple locations.</li> <li>The relationship building skills. You are relatable and can gain the trust of all levels of the organization.</li> <li>The adaptability. You are proactive, goal-oriented and creatively resourceful. You are comfortable working independently as an onsite and remote resource for management and employees.</li> <li>The technical skills. You are comfortable with MS Office; (this is not in place yet) and learning new software quickly. You can leverage technology to build capacity.</li> <li>The communication abilities. You have excellent leadership, organizational, multi-tasking and presentation skills. You are well spoken and confident while open to feedback and learning at every opportunity. You are politically savvy. You have exceptional business writing abilities. You have an exceptional commitment to customer service with a strong sense of urgency.
