Overview: <p>*This is a sourcing requisition being posted to find qualified candidates who are interested in moving into an RN position in Henry Ford's CVICU*</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The CVICU is a 24 bed unit that cares for a combined patient population. We specialize in Cardiology, Heart Failure, and Cardiothoracic Surgery. This is a fast paced ICU with countless opportunities to learn and grow.&nbsp;<strong><strong style="font-style: inherit;">We provide</strong></strong>&nbsp;<strong><strong style="font-style: inherit;">cutting edge procedures for patients who travel from all over the country</strong></strong>.&nbsp;<strong><strong style="font-style: inherit;">Our physicians have developed and successfully accomplished many procedures that have never been attempted before in the world.&nbsp;</strong></strong></p> <p>The patient population we care for includes but is not limited to heart/lung transplant, LVAD insertion, direct post-op CABG, AMI, cardiogenic shock, TAVR, ECMO, Impella, Tandem Heart.&nbsp;</p> <p>Since we are a Transplant Center we are able to provide our patients with a multitude of cardiac support devices, either temporary or as a bridge to transplant. Due to this, our nurses must be trained and proficient in the management of these support devices. Therefore,&nbsp;<strong><strong style="font-style: inherit;">we provide a number of training and advanced educational opportunities for our nurses</strong></strong>.&nbsp;</p> <p>The CVICU treats very complex patients with high acuity and has rapidly growing programs. Our Heart Failure, ECMO and Structural Heart programs are all growing immensely, not only in patient volume but also in complexity as our patients are very diverse.&nbsp;</p> <p>The unit, as well as the hospital, takes pride in a collaborative/multidisciplinary approach to patient care.&nbsp;<strong><strong style="font-style: inherit;">Nurses are vital to the management of care for our patients. They are encouraged to participate in rounds/care decisions not only by nursing leadership but also by the providers.&nbsp;</strong></strong></p> <p><strong><strong style="font-style: inherit;">We pride ourselves in providing the best, most up to date care possible driven by best practice and evidenced based practice.</strong></strong>&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <p>A Registered Nurse who works for the Henry Ford Health System</p> <ul style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;"> <li style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.</li> <li style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.</li> <li style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.</li> <li style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong><u>CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:</u></strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.</li> <li>BSN preferred.</li> <li>Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.</li> <li>Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.</li> <li>Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.</li> <li>Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.</li> <li>Minimum of 1 year experience as an RN working in CVICU or comparable ICU experience&nbsp;is preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of 1 year experience as an RN working on a Step Down or Intermediate Unit is preferred - must be able to read Telemetry.</li> </ul>
