Registered Nurse

Overview: <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Surgical ICU offers a new learning experience each day due to the variety of surgical intensive care specialties cared for in our 40 bed unit.&nbsp; Patient populations include trauma, neurological-trauma, vascular, liver, kidney and pancreas transplant, and general surgical patient populations. The unit includes all surgical patient modalities and medical co-morbidity.&nbsp; Our patients are cared for by a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering evidenced based, high quality standards of care.&nbsp;</span><br /> <ul type="disc"> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Position: 36 hours per week/three 12 hour shifts</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Shift: Midnights 7 pm to 7 am</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Benefits: Full time benefit package</span></li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care</li> <li>Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family</li> <li>Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team</li> <li>Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.</p> <div class="job_qualifications"> <ul> <li>BSN preferred</li> <li>Graduation from an accredited school of nursing</li> <li>Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans</li> <li>Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services</li> <li>Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel</li> <li>Minimum of 1 year of recent experience working as an RN on a Med/Surg floor or in an ICU preferred</li> </ul> </div>
