Responsibilities: <p>Advanced practice nurse position that provides leadership and works in partnership with nursing, the health care team, and system leaders to develop a quality practice setting that supports professional nursing practice and quality patient care.</p>
Requirements: <ul> <li>The Nursing Education Specialist is an advanced practice nurse who provides leadership and works in partnership with nursing, the health care team and system leaders to develop a quality practice setting that supports professional nursing practice and quality patient care</li> <li>This position works with the new Nurse Residency program Henry Ford Health System started in January 2017</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) from accredited institution required</li> <li>Minimum five years clinical experience and two years of teaching experience in a university or college and/or hospital/health care institution</li> <li>Competence in curriculum or program design, development and evaluation</li> <li>Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving and organizational skills</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to inspire commitment and to energize people to achieve mutual goals</li> <li>Must be self directed and able to work independently</li> <li>Ability to integrate knowledge of cultural diversity into role</li> <li>Possesses broad knowledge of health care systems, trends, and the care continuum</li> <li>Communicates effectively orally, in writing and through technology</li> <li>Computer Skills: Considerable amounts of computer work. Computer skills including Microsoft Software (Word, PowerPoint) and familiar with use of Internet</li> </ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Candidates must have 5 years of clinical nursing experience and two years teaching experience in a university, college, and/or hospital/health care institution. Previous ICU experience is required for the position</li> <li>Competence in curriculum or program design, development, and evaluation is necessary</li> <li>Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving, presentation skills, and organizational skills</li> <li>Possess broad knowledge of health care systems, trends, and the care continuum</li> <li>Considerable computer skills are necessary: Knowledge of Microsoft programs. Work is divided between normal office, classroom, labs, and patient care environment</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:</u></strong> Certification in area of specialty preferred; Current Michigan RN licensure required.</p> <p><strong><u>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:</u></strong> Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.</p>
