Overview: <strong><u>Registered Nurse - Cardiac Step-down/ CDU Overflow Unit- 36 hours per week - Midnight's<br /><br />Cardiac Step-down/ CDU Overflow Unit (3 Chestnut) </u></strong>is a 12 bed General Medicine/ Cardiac Telemetry Unit. As the saying goes &ldquo;Variety is the Spice of Life&rdquo;, so too is the field of Nursing on 3 Chestnut. The population consists of patients with diagnoses including but not limited to Cardiac Arrhythmias, Cardiac Interventions including Catheterizations, Pacemakers and AICD placement, Renal Failure, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Fecal Transplant, GI Disorders, Hospice and Palliative Care. We offer a foundation to nurture and sustain career growth. We pride ourselves on a diverse supportive staff, outstanding teamwork and quality patient care. The RN staff will attend portions of the Critical Care orientation class. ACLS certification is mandatory within ONE YEAR of employment. One year Medical-Surgical GPU experience preferred. Responsibilities: Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.&nbsp;
Requirements: <div class="job_qualifications"> <div class="job_qualifications"><strong>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:&nbsp;</strong> <div> <ul> <li>BSN preferred. &nbsp;</li> <li>Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. &nbsp;</li> <li>Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. &nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. &nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.<strong style="font-size: 12pt;">&nbsp;</strong></li> <li><strong>Previous ICU- Critical Care experience Preferred</strong></li> </ul> </div> <h5><strong style="font-size: 12pt;"><br />CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:</strong></h5> <div> <ul> <li>Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.&nbsp;</li> <li>ACLS Preferred</li> </ul> </div> </div> </div>
