Responsibilities: <p>Note: The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform one or more of the activities described below.</p> <ul> <li>Assigns addresses to new subdivisions and commercial projects approved for future developments within the unincorporated areas of Hillsborough County.&nbsp;</li> <li>Creates address listings and diagrams for new addresses and street names to be distributed to governmental agencies and services.&nbsp;</li> <li>Performs addressing reviews for Development Services for proposed subdivision and commercial projects within unincorporated areas of Hillsborough County.&nbsp;</li> <li>Receives and responds to addressing requests from Development Services, the Health Department and property developers relating to the permitting process for new residential and commercial structures within unincorporated Hillsborough County.&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborates with property owners, developers, governmental agencies and utility companies in regards to adjusting addresses of existing structures and/or street names and block ranges, and complete Official Notices to be distributed indicating all changes.&nbsp;</li> <li>Drives a vehicle to perform field investigations needed to research and resolve existing or potential future address problems.&nbsp;</li> <li>Adds or edits the Site Address Point GIS data with the exact location of existing or proposed addresses per building permits, address changes, and various development projects.&nbsp;</li> <li>Reviews proposed street names for all new roadways and the renaming of existing roadways within Hillsborough County.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provides block ranges and correct spelling of streets for the installation of private and County street signs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develops and maintains block ranges for addressing purposes.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provides updated address block ranges and street name information for the 911 Master Street Address Guide (MSAG).&nbsp;</li> <li>Verifies, adds and deletes 911 Database Telephone records as needed.&nbsp;</li> <li>Reads and plots legal descriptions from property records such as recorded deeds to determine property boundaries and access.&nbsp;</li> <li>Researches hard copy and electronic files for addresses and street name discrepancies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Performs other related duties as required.</li> </ul>
