Overview: Industrial Instrumentation &amp; Control Technician is a Three-Tiered job, and an incumbent in the job performs electronics work in the calibration, programming, installation, repair, and maintenance of electronic equipment and various instrumentation, control systems, and process equipment used in an industrial/building operations setting. Assists, completes, and/or leads crews responsible for performing a broad range of electronic tasks in accordance with the International Society of Automation (ISA) standards and electronics trade practices.
Responsibilities: <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"><strong><em>All Tiers</em></strong></span></p> <ul> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Troubleshoots, installs, maintains, modifies, calibrates, inspects, and repairs instrumentation process control systems, motor starters, controls, and variable frequency drives.</span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Designs, constructs, assembles, and rearranges circuits and performs other modifications to operation and test equipment, exhibits, and other devices.</span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Operates electronic controlling, measuring, recording, transmitting, testing, and diagnostic equipment in an industrial operations setting.</span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Controls industrial processes using electronic software and applications such as scientific and analytic computer software, calculators, voltage and current meters, electronic probes, process multi-meters, and specialized calibration equipment.</span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Interprets and ensures compliance with established codes, calculates data necessary for wiring systems, and requisitions supplies and materials needed to complete projects and assignments.</span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Recommends electronic requirements in support of facilities and/or systems.</span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Provides written documentation and reports for compliance inspections.</span></p> </li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Performs other related duties as required.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"><strong><em>Tier-2 and Tier-3</em></strong></span></p> <ul> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Performs advanced analysis and interpretation of test data and may edit PLC programs using specified software.</span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Performs complex installation, modification, fabrication, repair, and maintenance of electronic and/or electrical equipment used in industrial / plant/operations setting in accordance with ISA and/or the National Electric Code (NEC).</span></p> </li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">May direct and/or oversee the work of lower-level technicians and fellow technical maintenance employees and train lower level technicians and staff in all phases of a variety of electronic instrumentation, equipment, and control systems</span></li> </ul>

font-size: medium;">Three years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment; AND</span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">One year leading/directing small groups, overseeing special projects, and troubleshooting experience; AND</span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Possession of a valid Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level 1 Certification; OR</span></p> </li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Knowledge of electrical safe work practices and procedures.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Knowledge of the function and operation of electronic controlling, measuring, recording, transmitting, testing and diagnostic equipment.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Knowledge of industrial automation, control panels, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and instruments.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Knowledge in the proper applications of instruments that control a process function.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Ability to work a variety of work schedules including emergency, and/or disaster situations.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Ability to troubleshoot, edit, configure and program Controls Systems such as PLCs, Human Machine Interface, drives, SCADA or other proprietary agency/department software with minimal supervision.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Ability to interpret engineering plans, diagrams, schematic, PLC ladder logic, and blue prints.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Ability to work effectively with others.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial;
