Responsibilities: <p>Note: The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform one or more of the activities described below:</p> <ul> <li>Process and monitor temporary traffic control permits.&nbsp;</li> <li>Monitor intersections and roadways by CCTV cameras and detection systems.&nbsp;</li> <li>Monitor functioning of traffic devices and computer equipment associated with the Advanced Traffic Management System.&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintains knowledge on the operation of all traffic equipment, computers and software associated with the traffic signal system.&nbsp;</li> <li>Use traffic equipment as needed for incident management, work zone activities, detour routes, and improved travel time.&nbsp;</li> <li>Performs other related duties as required.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <h2>IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE</h2> <div>The Hillsborough County Public Works Department is seeking an Engineering Associate to serve as an operator of the Traffic Management Center to monitor the transportation network and respond to planned and unplanned incidents, congestion, and travel time imbalances. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS.now).
