Responsibilities: Performs general managerial/administrative duties at a residential facility for youth ages 11 to 17 years old, with responsibility for planning, scheduling, coordinating, budgeting, and controlling assigned resources to achieve department/section objectives.<br /><br /> <p>Note: The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform some or all of the activities described below.</p> <ul> <li>Delegates work assignments to program staff in accordance with established policies/procedures and oversee the performance and implementation of those assignments.</li> <li>Develops, implements, and monitors appropriate procedures for effective service delivery and administrative efficiency, and ensures quality in their execution.</li> <li>Prepares performance evaluations for assigned staff.</li> <li>Initiates requests for regular supervision and interim evaluation and goal setting.</li> <li>Facilitates training to assigned staff and conducts in-service training sessions, as requested.</li> <li>Responds to on-call crisis situations 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and may carry an agency-issued communication device (cell phone).</li> <li>Assists in the development of organizational plans/policies related to professional standards and ensures implementation of such.</li> <li>Provides periodic evaluative reviews and/or training to ensure staff understands and adheres to these standards.</li> <li>Coordinates and integrates programs and services including admission, discharges, and service planning.</li> <li>Assumes responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of program reports, projects, schedules, and other record keeping.</li> <li>Participates in interviewing, hiring, discipline, termination, and other relevant employment transactions, with guidance from higher level management staff.</li> <li>Participates in management team meetings and other meetings, as required.</li> <li>Coordinates resolution of basic facility and/or equipment issues.</li> <li>Adheres to professional standards as outlined by the Division, Department of Children and Families, Department of Juvenile Justice, and other appropriate professional associations, and private funding sources.</li> <li>Remains current in the field of service provided by the program through self-initiated avenues.</li> </ul> <p>This classification description is not intended to be, nor should it be construed as an all inclusive list of the duties associated with a particular position. Requirements: <h4>Minimum qualifications: Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree with a major in a Social or Behavioral Science;&nbsp;<strong>and&nbsp;</strong>Five (5) years working with youth in a residential child welfare setting or child placement agency, to include at least three (3) years of related managerial or supervisory experience of at least 4 subordinates;&nbsp;<strong>and&nbsp;</strong>Possession of a valid Florida Driver License&nbsp;</h4> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.</li> <li>Occasionally sitting at a desk or table; frequently standing and/or walking outside around 30-acre campus.</li> <li>Ability to provide physical intervention as prescribed by approved trauma informed practice model (NAPPI)&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Constantly requires incumbent to remain on premises during breaks and/ or meal periods.</li> <li>Frequently requires transporting children around Hillsborough County in County vans.</li> </ul> <br />&bull;&nbsp;Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing child welfare.&nbsp;<br />&bull; Skill in effectively influencing actions and opinions of others.&nbsp;<br />&bull; Skill in inspiring and motivating others to perform well.&nbsp;<br />&bull; Ability to supervise multiple functions with full accountability for effective operation and results.&nbsp;<br />&bull; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.&nbsp;<br />&bull; Ability to analyze and solve highly intricate and complex problems.&nbsp;<br />&bull; Ability to exercise independent judgment.&nbsp;<br />&bull; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.&nbsp;<br />&bull; Ability to use a computer and related software.
