Responsibilities: <ul><li>All requirements of a Baker I and includes the following:</li><li>Measures and mixes ingredients to form dough or batter, using electric mixer or beats and stirs ingredients by hand. Accurately follows and adheres precisely to established recipes.</li><li>Shapes dough for cookies, pies and fancy pastries. Accurately bakes products to recipe specifications.</li><li>Adjusts drafts or thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperatures. </li><li>Prepares and cooks ingredients for pie fillings, puddings, custards, or other desserts. </li><li>Pours filling into pie shells and tops filling with meringue or cream. </li><li>Mixes ingredients to make icings. Blends colors for icings and for shaped sugar ornaments/decorations.</li><li>Able to decorate and finish cakes and pastries for all occasions that are appealing to the eye.</li><li>Able to make Chocolate and sugar decorations for buffet</li><li>Has thorough understanding of proper operation of all bake shop equipment including ovens, mixers, dividers, rounders, dough sheeters, etc.</li><li>Is knowledgeable of and adheres to proper time/temperature controls. </li><li>Properly covers labels and dates any/all food products as necessary before storage. </li><li>Conducts proper FIFO procedures when stocking/replenishing coolers, freezers and/or dry storage areas. </li><li>Able to understand follow production logs and quantities precisely. </li><li>Initiates a positive guest experience when working any front buffet line station by providing a welcome and/or greeting, making eye contact, describing food offerings, smiling, and bidding aware farewell and good luck, etc.</li><li>Thoroughly cleans work station and equipment prior to end of shift.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be 18 years of age or older.</li> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Minimum of two years experience in a full service restaurant preferred.</li> <li>Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.</li> <li>Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.</li> <li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.</li> <li>Ability to work with Stratton Warren purchasing system</li> <li>The ability to use all kitchen tools and equipment. Ability to identify all products used in kitchen operation. Ability to read, comprehend, and execute recipes.</li> <li>While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.</li> <li>While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.</li> </ul>
