Responsibilities: Weeks 1-4: INTRODUCTION TO TABLE GAMES AND BLACKJACK<br /> <ul> <li>Complete in four weeks (4 hours per day, 5 days per week)</li> <li>This course begins with the general responsibilities of the dealer. Emphasis is placed on correct chip handling techniques, identifying the value of each color chip, learning to read the total value of a bet and pit procedures. Continued with the fundamentals of dealing Blackjack; card totaling, chip handling and cutting, card shuffling, and card placement. Attention given to game and accounting procedures, accuracy, and speed.</li> </ul> Week 5 &amp; 6: NOVELTY GAMES<br /> <ul> <li>Complete in two weeks (4 hours per day, 5 days per week)</li> <li>This course covers a grouping of games considered &ldquo;secondary&rdquo; / &ldquo;carnival&rdquo; / &ldquo;novelty&rdquo; games. The category of these games can be extensive; the current games included listed below.&nbsp; You will learn the rules of play for each game, standard poker rankings, calculating payout odds, and more.</li> <li>Three Card Poker</li> <li>Four Card Poker</li> <li>Let It Ride</li> <li>Mississippi Stud</li> <li>Cajun Stud</li> <li>High Card Flush</li> <li>Heads-Up Hold&rsquo;em Poker</li> <li>Ultimate Texas Hold'em Poker</li> <li>Classes are held at the BRCTC Gaming Careers Institute located at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. Introduction to Table Games is a prerequisite before completing additional games.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.&nbsp;</li> <li>Pass dealer assessment and audition upon certification.</li> <li>Fast and accurate in handling cash.</li> <li>Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate.</li> <li>Able to qualify for licensing with the WV Lottery and WV Racing Commission.</li> <li>Speaks clearly and politely; responds well to questions; and, contributes to building a positive team spirit.</li> <li>Able to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees. Must be diplomatic and tactful. Previous customer service experience preferred.</li> <li>Able to read, speak and comprehend English. Bilingual/multilingual a plus.</li> <li>Position requires fast, repetitive motion of hands and wrists and frequent reaching and bending over gaming tables. May occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.</li> <li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in an environment where smoking is permitted and with higher than normal noise levels.</li> </ul>
