Overview: <br />Reporting to the VP Supplemental &amp; Group Underwriting, the&nbsp;<strong>Director Solution Development&nbsp;</strong>will be responsible for third party administrator (TPA) and vendor account management. This position is<strong>&nbsp;</strong>responsible for driving new solution development initiatives in conjunction with Underwriting, Sales, Claims and Compliance.&nbsp;<br /><br /> <p><strong>You'll love this position if you are:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>A problem solver</strong>: you will be the primary contact for all questions and concerns regarding our external vendors.</li> <li><strong>A Subject Matter Expert</strong>: you will be a SME over all worksite solutions (product, technology, process), including marketing of the products through the company's website and technology solutions.</li> <li><strong>A liaison:</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong>you will&nbsp;connect and bridge the gap between various internal and external partners needed to conduct business.</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Oversee and manage TPA and vendor relationships.</li> <li>Oversee and manage external product and technology relationships.</li> <li>Set worksite strategy in conjunction with Sales Leadership and Department Head.</li> <li>Lead the design and development of new products/solutions from concept through production.</li> <li>Mine and identify market opportunities (technology, process, acquisitions, vendors) based on stated strategy, incorporating market research to achieve stated growth objectives.</li> <li>Evaluate and resolve technical issues when they arise.</li> <li>Assess product market data based on customer feedback.</li> <li>Support Field Salespeople by meeting directly with customers as needed.</li> <li>Act as SME on new products/solutions/technology &ndash; including worksite suite.</li> <li>Responsible for development of marketing activity/materials to support Sales team and distribution partners.</li> <li>Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned and as business requires.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong><br />Education and Experience:</strong> <ul> <li>A Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Business and/or Marketing or Communications is required.</li> <li>Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably in Marketing and/or Insurance.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience in developing and maintaining productive working relationships with agents, carrier partners and TPAs.</li> <li>Knowledge of group products and ability to expand brand awareness to agents and groups.</li> </ul> <strong><br />Skills and/or Abilities</strong>: <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills including the ability to convey routine and complex information to all external contacts in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to work with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment.</li> </ul> <strong><br />Travel:&nbsp;</strong>10%-20% travel required to other Horace Mann offices or vendor meetings<br /> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><br /><br /></p> <div class="content-conclusion"> <p>Horace Mann was founded in 1945 by two Springfield, Illinois, teachers who saw a need for quality, affordable auto insurance for teachers.
