Overview: Are you a strategic leader who is passionate about planning and implementation of benefits, wellness, and compensation programs, policies, and procedures? Horace Mann is looking for an experienced Director, Total Rewards<strong>&nbsp;</strong>who will help review, design, and implement our Total Rewards strategy across the organization, and provide leadership on compensation and benefits to ensure competitiveness within the industry.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Partner with the Total Rewards leader and team, the Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP) and Talent &amp; Culture team to ensure that total rewards initiatives and programs are aligned with the direction of the organization.</li> <li>Plan and direct the development, implementation, and administration of job evaluation systems, compensation programs, and incentive compensation plans for the purpose of attracting, motivating, and retaining a caliber of work force consistent with corporate objectives.</li> <li>Responsible for the oversight of the benefits plans/programs, including health and welfare programs, 401(k) plan, employee benefits data, etc.</li> <li>Research and develop detailed recommendations for the implementation of new programs or for the modification of existing programs.</li> <li>Ensure legal compliance and cost effectiveness and that resources are allocated to support the various corporate initiatives.</li> <li>Coach, mentor, and train Total Rewards team members</li> <li>Participate in benchmarking activities by providing pay and benefits survey inputs and make recommendations based on the data</li> <li>Work effectively with the other Total Rewards teams, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Development, and HRBPs on projects as assigned</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compensation:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead and develop recommendations for year-end compensation processes, including the merit pool/modeling and bonus payments</li> <li>Provide guidance and analysis for job offers and promotions up to a specified level/threshold</li> <li>In partnership with the business, review, approve, and document unique incentive plans, including sales-based plans</li> <li>Define the salary survey strategy and oversee the annual submission process</li> <li>Assist with job documentation and job evaluations</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p> <ul> <li>In partnership with the vendor and benefits lead, manage the annual review and renewal of benefit programs, including the annual enrollment process</li> <li>In partnership with Head of Total Rewards, make recommendations for and implement changes to existing life, health, and retirement benefits</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in HR, Finance, or related field required</li> <li>7+ years of compensation or benefits experience preferred or equivalent experience</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of benefits design and administration and practices.</li> <li>Solid working knowledge of compensation programs and processes.</li> <li>Demonstrated leadership experience with increasing authority/influence</li> </ul> <br /> <p>#VIZI#</p> <div class="content-conclusion"> <p>Horace Mann was founded in 1945 by two Springfield, Illinois, teachers who saw a need for quality, affordable auto insurance for teachers.
