Overview: <p><strong>This is not a remote position. This position is located in Springfield, IL.</strong></p> <p>The <strong><span class="ui-provider eo bxv bxw bxx bxy bxz bya byb byc byd bye byf byg byh byi byj byk byl bym byn byo byp byq byr bys byt byu byv byw byx byy byz bza bzb bzc">Regulatory and Product Specialist</span></strong>&nbsp;will support the Life and Retirement New business team in complying with legal and regulatory requirements and support the Enterprise Compliance programs and plans related to the mitigation of risks across the organization. You will ensure that Life and Retirement New Business implements new regulations and is following set regulatory standards within their operations.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Advertising review and filing</li> <li>File new and revised products and regulatory forms</li> <li>Review, create and update standard operating procedures</li> <li>Creates/updates regulatory forms and upload the forms to the necessary systems and online forms</li> <li>Create and update all fund related materials (i.e. performance fliers, risk tolerance worksheets, etc.)</li> <li>Regulatory Monitoring - Monitor changes in federal and state regulations that impact policies and procedures and communicate the changes to appropriate management and staff members with recommendations to meet mandated timelines.</li> <li>Product Development &ndash;Participating in the product development workgroups to develop or revise life or annuity policies</li> <li>Quality control &ndash; reviewing transactions to ensure proper processing</li> <li>Regulatory review of insurance applications/enrollment forms for compliance with applicable regulations</li> <li>Regulatory filings &ndash; Responsible for preparing and filing annual filings including securities filings such as prospectuses and separate account filings (securities filings will require Series 6)</li> <li>Coordinate or assist with Market Conduct/Market Analysis exams from the Departments of Insurance</li> <li>Monitor sales of insurance products to ensure compliance with applicable regulations</li> <li>Participate as the Compliance representative on various work groups and committees</li> <li>Respond to compliance related questions or requests from other departments (e.g. research, opinions, questions, etc.)</li> <li>Review standing operating procedures to ensure they support compliance goals and parameters</li> <li>Under the direction of the area leader and the full compliance team, proactively assess the organization&rsquo;s regulatory compliance risk and develop plans to align the risk with the organization&rsquo;s risk posture.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>3-5 years of life/annuity experienced or a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business related field.</li> <li>Paralegal degree preferred.</li> <li>Series 6 and 26 preferred.</li> <li>FLMI preferred.</li> <li>AIRC preferred.</li> <li>RC preferred.</li> <li>Periodic travel may be required.</li> <li>Work during irregular hours may be required.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communications skills required.</li> <li>Adherence to state insurance laws are the primary focus but review and assistance on other regulations and financial products may be in scope of this job (SEC, FINRA, Patriot Act, OFAC, OTS, IRS, AML, Privacy, HIPAA, etc.).</li> </ul> <br /><br /><br /> <div class="content-conclusion"> <p>Horace Mann was founded in 1945 by two Springfield, Illinois, teachers who saw a need for quality, affordable auto insurance for teachers.
