Overview: Horace Mann is looking for a Carrier Relationship Manager who will be responsible for managing and optimizing third-party carrier relationships on behalf of Horace Mann General Agency including product training and appetite.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Analyze third-party product offering across all Lines of business and geography to meet agent and client&rsquo;s needs.</li> <li>Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party carrier partners.</li> <li>Monitor carrier performance against service level agreements to ensure favorable outcomes for Horace Mann.</li> <li>Ensure third-party carrier relationships increase revenue and profit sharing, including tracking and monitoring carrier performance metrics.</li> <li>Conduct regular reviews and audits of carrier partners.</li> <li>Establish extensive knowledge of the market to identify target carrier prospects that complement Horace Mann products and other third-party products.</li> <li>Become a liaison between Exclusive Agent (EA) distribution, licensing, and product management.</li> <li>Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between internal stakeholders and carrier partners.</li> <li>Provide regular updates to senior management on vendor performance and related risks.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with carrier procedures and quality standards.</li> <li>First point of contact with carrier relationships including administrator access for all carriers.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business administration, Finance, Insurance, Economics, or related field required.</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years&rsquo; experience in Property and Casualty (P&amp;C) Insurance Partnership Management preferred.</li> <li>Strong analytical skills with extensive insurance product knowledge.</li> <li>Proven track record of strong relationship building and experience overcoming objections.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Excellent with contracts and negotiating.</li> <li>Agency and sales experience preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Competencies:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Analytical THINKING: Ability to analyze data and trends to make informed decisions.</li> <li>Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address vendor-related issues effectively.</li> <li>Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Negotiation: Skilled in negotiating contracts and agreements.</li> <li>Project Management: Ability to manage projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.</li> <li>Team Collaboration: Strong team payer with ability to work cross-functionally.</li> </ul>
