Overview: As the Financial Analyst II- Property &amp; Casualty, you are on the team that analyzes, understands, and explains the How &amp; Why behind monthly, quarterly, and annual Property &amp; Casualty (P&amp;C) business and financial results.&nbsp; People depend on you to know what&rsquo;s going on with P&amp;C &mdash; you play an integral role in assembling the data on current and historical results; in projecting future business performance; and in crafting financial plans for this year, next year, and beyond.<br /><br /> <p>Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>The capacity to self-direct your work, to question the data, to solve difficult puzzles, and to meet regular deadlines</li> <li>The ability to figure things out, balanced with a willingness to seek help when things aren&rsquo;t coming together for you</li> <li>A good sense for financial &amp; business data-analysis (e.g. income statement, premium-loss-exposure metrics, etc.)</li> <li>A &ldquo;head for numbers&rdquo;, combined with an attention to details and an actuary&rsquo;s feel for when something is wrong with the data/analysis you&rsquo;re working with</li> <li>An ability to become skilled with your team&rsquo;s preexisting practices &amp; protocols</li> <li>The confidence to try out new and creative approaches/solutions, even if your ideas might ultimately fail</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree, and 3-5 years of relevant work experience</li> <li>Good skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, relational databases, and computer/software applications in general</li> <li>A working knowledge of the insurance business, and P&amp;C insurance in particular</li> <li>Above all: An attitude of optimism, self-confidence, creativity, ambition, and enthusiasm to learn new things while advancing your career</li> </ul>
