Experienced Accounting and Finance professional

Overview: <p>The Controller will act as a strong partner to the CFO and will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day financial operations including accounting and reporting, planning and analysis, budget and forecast development, and overseeing the internal and external activities of record keeping and reporting.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Partner with the CFO to ensure the right accounting and financial infrastructure is in place to support anticipated growth</li> <li>Leads and has responsibility for the organization&rsquo;s accounting practices, the maintenance of corporate records, and the preparation of financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles</li> <li>Manage the completion of the month-end close process</li> <li>Assesses financial/operations results and controls in terms of costs, budgets, and trends</li> <li>Generate key financial reports and other key operating metrics on a monthly basis for distribution to executive management</li> <li>Preparation of the quarterly review materials for executive management</li> <li>Makes recommendations for increased profit opportunities, more efficient asset utilization, and provides management with relevant information for effective planning</li> <li>Participate in monthly meetings to review, understand, and document major performance variances by product line and division through dialogue</li> <li>Works cross functionally with Sales group for thorough understanding of customer contractual situations (Giveback, terms, etc.)</li> <li>Coordinates with external auditors</li> <li>Support CFO and other senior leadership as needed with ad hoc special projects</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA desired</li> <li>8+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or industry</li> <li>Strong knowledge of GAAP</li> <li>Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, Text to Columns, Charts, etc.)</li> <li>Distribution experience preferred</li> <li>Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to various levels in the organization</li> <li>Must be self-motivated and function independently, driven towards superior effort and performance and the desire to work in a very dynamic environment</li> <li>Evidence of exceptional ability as demonstrated through career progression</li> </ul>
