Overview: <p>The primary function of the Master Scheduler is to oversee the day-to-day activities for material planning, and logistics within the production facility as well as to and from our customers and suppliers.&nbsp; Analyzes and reports on actual customer demand, trends and forecasts, and adjust capacity and inventory plans accordingly. This role is an integral part to the automotive business unit.</p> <p>&nbsp;This position will oversee the day to day activities in our Michigan facility including but not limited to the following tasks:</p> <ul> <li>Inventory control</li> <li>Order fulfillment</li> <li>Product distribution</li> <li>Truck Scheduling</li> <li>Cross Dock Management</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Coordinates daily tasks of the MP&amp;L department by effectively communicating with the team, hosting and attending daily meetings, cross training, educating, developing personnel, and communicating clearly and effectively with both the customer and the MP&amp;L team</li> <li>Oversees daily inventory levels and replenishes stock based on the use of lean methodology and MP&amp;L tools to prevent finished good stock outs and/or material shortages at the production cells</li> <li>Coordinates orders to insure the customer and supply chain receives material on time to meet the needs of the end user</li> <li>Reviews and establishes distribution routes to maximize truck densities and to minimize the total number of trucks in circulation</li> <li>Maintains and ensures component accuracy in MP&amp;L software to insure proper loading of schedules, printing of labels, transfer of assets from RAW to WIP, transfer of assets to offsite facilities and transfer of goods from inventory for material movement to and from the production facility&nbsp;</li> <li>Communicates customer releases and intercompany scheduling via lean methodology (level loading)</li> <li>Optimizes inventory turns and material days on hand to align with corporate standards and key production indicators</li> <li>Maintains consistent and effective communication with our suppliers and/or customers</li> <li>Supports a positive and friendly work environment via collaboration, open communication, and clearly communicated objectives and goals</li> <li>Leads by example and holds accountability</li> <li>Develops and maintains 5S standards to support a safe and clean work environment</li> <li>Monitors and updates performance tracking data including supplier ratings, supplier delivery performance, on time deliveries, missed deliveries, premium freight costs and any other applicable departmental measurable</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Monitors and manages all Customer Portals as required by the Customer.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a master scheduler, material planner and/or MP&amp;L related position. PLEX experience preferred</li> <li>Minimum of 5-7 years of inventory control, purchasing and/or material planning experience required</li> <li>Solid working knowledge of EDI, ASN&rsquo;s and asset transactions through the various stages of the material process flow</li> <li>Effective verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Ability to work in a cross-functional environment</li> <li>Ability to organize and prioritize workload on a day to day basis</li> <li>A highly organized individual that performs well under pressure</li> <li>Ability to problem solve and make data-driven decisions</li> <li>Effective reasoning and negotiation skills</li> <li>Must possess the traits of a leader and the ability to lead by example</li> <li>Must embrace change to support the daily needs of our corporate goals</li> <li>Knowledge of production scheduling and PLEX are essential to this role</li> <li>Computer literacy and the ability to grow and develop are a must</li> <li>Four-year degree preferred</li> <li>APICS Certification a plus</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Ford, FCA, BMW and GM Portals and requirements as a supplier</li> </ul>
