We're looking for&nbsp;a new grad who is looking for a step in the door at a reputable company close to home. People like you!</p> <p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p> <p>Our new plant in Hillsboro needs a Purchasing Coordinator. Reporting to Warren Vantreese, HR Safety Business Partner, our new Purchasing Coordinator will oversee contracts, inventory and vendor relationships.</p> <p><strong>Who you are</strong></p> <p>You are a new grad looking for a step in the door at a reputable company close to home. You want a role where you will have the freedom to work autonomously, the opportunity to lead the work of another team member and a chance to gain exposure to client-facing and internal stakeholder meetings. You want to grow your career into a Supervisory role in Shipping, Production or the Corporate office.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>What you will do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures. You will monitor and control resources and overseeing spending. You will review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing requisitions.</li> <li>Resolve and review purchasing and vendor documentation. You will manage vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers. You will ensure purchase order claims and contracts conform to company policy.</li> <li>Administer on-line purchasing systems and maintain records of goods ordered and received. You will prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies, services and equipment. You will ensure purchased items are delivered timely and as specified on the purchase order and arrange for disposal of surplus materials.</li> <li>Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales. You will be analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. You will represent company in negotiating with suppliers. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.</li> <li>Communicate with Supervisors or peers. You will provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>So, how do we know that&rsquo;s you? You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma. You are a high-school graduate with an affinity for Math. A two-year college degree is preferable but not required.</li> <li>Critical thinking skills. You are logical and analytical. You can use common sense and good judgement when negotiating deals. You are detail oriented.</li> <li>Technical knowledge. You have intermediate level Excel. Experience with PowerPoint is a bonus and is exposure to purchasing software.</li> <li>Leadership abilities. You can oversee, check and approve the work of a clerk.</li> <li>Drive. You are proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized, deadline focused and you have the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. You can work autonomously and manage your own work.</li> <li>Outstanding communication skills. Your written and verbal skills are professional, clear and concise. You understand business and vendor terminology and can confidently interpret the details, terms and conditions of a contract.</li> <li>Excellent relationship building abilities.
