Overview: <br /> <p><strong>A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OPTIMIZATION TECHNOLOGIST LOCATED IN LUMBERTON, MS:<br /><br /></strong><br />Maintain and monitor mill optimization process and equipment for highest production value and recovery. Monitor and maintain optimizer parameters and values.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Set up and monitor systems PMs that include scanner calibration, sensor status, system tests, etc.</li> <li>Monitor KPIs for trends &amp; develop improvement initiatives</li> <li>Monitor and maintain mill optimizers</li> <li>Maintain and troubleshoot optimization computers and servers, networks and communications, and assist the electrical team with communications related to PLC programming interfaces.</li> <li>Compile data and other information to generate reports needed by management</li> <li>Report optimizer performance and status to mill supervisor</li> <li>Maintain parts inventory for all optimization equipment, operations computers, networks, servers, etc. and order parts as necessary</li> <li>Check grade &amp; quality at planer grade line regularly and work with QC, Mill and Planer Supervisors, Filer leads to make adjustments that achieve best quality, value and recovery</li> <li>Report maintenance problems</li> <li>Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations and policies</li> <li>Consistently work at acceptable production levels</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>TECHNICAL EXPECTATIONS:<br /><br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Advanced computer skills</li> <li>Basic computer networking skills, TCP/IP, LAN, WLAN</li> <li>Basic knowledge of Electrical and PLC control systems</li> <li>Basic mechanical skills</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>EDUCATION &amp; OTHER REQUIREMENTS:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum High School Diploma or GED</li> <li>Strong communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to lead and teach others.</li> <li>Attention to detail.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<br /><br /></strong></p> <p>Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement.
