Overview: Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking a Machinist to join our team. Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAs. Studies blueprints, sketches, machine components, or specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and the type of material required of the piece to be machined
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Dismantles machine or equipment to examine for defects or component failure</li> <li>Replaces, repairs, or reproduces defective parts from a variety of materials, using hand tools such as drills, scraper and file, or machine tools such as lathe, milling machine or grinder</li> <li>Assembles and tests machine to verify correction of malfunction</li> <li>Fabricates machines, mechanisms, and tools</li> <li>Analyzes verbal instructions, written specifications, blueprints or rough sketches to determine effective work plan</li> <li>Sets up and operates machine tools and manufactures parts to specifications</li> <li>Analyzes operating hydraulic systems and identifies problems or necessary repairs</li> <li>Welds, cut, brazes, or solders parts as needed</li> <li>Makes tools and dies</li> <li>Keep working areas clean</li> <li>Other duties as needed</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Three or more years of previous machinist experience in a manufacturing environment</li> <li>Experience machining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders</li> <li>Experience with CNC technology (lathes, milling machines &amp; line bore machines)</li> <li>High School Diploma or GED (or willingness to quickly obtain one as a condition of employment)</li> <li>Valid Driver&rsquo;s License is highly preferred</li> </ul> <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br /> <br />Ability to sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs.<br /> <ul> <li>Excellent hand/eye coordination</li> <li>Bend at waist &ndash; occasional</li> <li>Twist upper body &ndash; occasional</li> <li>Stoop - occasional</li> <li>Repetitive use of hands &ndash; frequent for clerical duties</li> <li>Stand/walk &ndash; occasional</li> <li>Sit &ndash; frequent</li> <li>Vision &ndash; near and far correctable; depth perception</li> <li>Hearing &ndash; preferred for awareness of surrounding machinery, mobile equipment, emergencies</li> </ul> <br />WORK ENVIRONMENT<br /> <br />Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, airborne particles (sawdust).<br />
