Overview: <p>Impact is hiring an IT Support Engineer for our Nationally ranked Best and Brightest Workplace!&nbsp;</p> <p>We are seeking a customer service focused individual with a vast knowledge of computers and networks to provide systematic improvements to the internal environment with a primary focus on the West Coast locations. The IT Support Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning and maintenance of systems hardware and software within our extensive infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and the company for future growth.</p> <p>This position will serve as the local hands for Impact&rsquo;s IT department within the California marketplace by providing phone and in-person support to our current locations as well as infrastructure buildouts of the new locations in accordance with the build plans.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <p><strong>Engineering and Provisioning</strong></p> <ul> <li>Follow detailed engineering documents to plan, configure, and install network and computer equipment into new facilities that are planned.</li> <li>Ensure that hardware for new facilities is purchased, delivered, and configured to meet the schedule of the facility.</li> <li>Perform timely setup and configurations for laptops that come in or out for end users.</li> <li>Run extra cable lines that are not performed through third-party vendors for additional hardware or AV Systems</li> <li>Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.</li> <li>Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures within standard document repository.</li> <li>Contribute to and maintain system standards.</li> <li>Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.</li> <li>Configure and modify the remote monitoring software for ideal alerting for failures and warnings to increase company uptime.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Operations and Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide daily phone support for Tier I and Tier II for end-users through the helpdesk phone queue and Ticketing system.</li> <li>Manage open tickets and update status of ongoing tickets on a regular basis.</li> <li>Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.</li> <li>Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Maintenance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new monitored services as necessary.</li> <li>Maintain documentation for operational, configuration, or other procedures.</li> <li>Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.</li> <li>Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>We are looking for an individual that is hard-working, self-motivated, and has 5+ years&rsquo; experience in IT support. A successful candidate for this role will be well organized with excellent note-taking and documentation skills, have great communication skills, be neat in appearance, and capable of working with remote teams effectively.
