Overview: <br />The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine wastewater analysis for process control as directed by the Lead Operator.
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Performs routine wastewater analysis for process control as directed by the Lead Operator such as: <ul> <li>Chemical oxygen demand (COD)</li> <li>Analysis of BOD5</li> <li>Suspended and total solids, volatile solids, ammonia</li> <li>Total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN)</li> <li>pH</li> <li>Conductivity</li> <li>Process jar testing</li> </ul> </li> <li>Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions</li> <li>The operations of the Atomic Absorption analysis equipment</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures, and safe practices</li> <li>Previous water or wastewater treatment experience</li> <li>High school diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years of formal training and experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience</li> <li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions</li> </ul>
