Overview: <br /> <p>The Accountant 2 is responsible for applying the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.</p> <p><strong>Governmental accounting experience required</strong></p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.&nbsp;</li> <li>Produces monthly P&amp;L and balance sheet&nbsp;</li> <li>Calculates commissions for sales reps monthly</li> <li>Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures</li> <li>Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization&rsquo;s accounting operation.</li> <li>Coordinates monthly close process</li> <li>Participate in internal and external audits</li> <li>Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Effective written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Accurate and attentive to detail</li> <li>Excellent understanding of accounting principles</li> <li>Proficient computer (Excel and Word)/ten key skills</li> <li>Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.</li> </ul> <p><strong><em><br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</em></strong></p> <p>High school diploma with 1-3 years prior administrative experience in a professional office environment</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.</p>
