Overview: <br /> <p>The Business Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining markets for one product line in the public and industrial sectors.<span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">&nbsp;<br /><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt;">LCAM license preferred.&nbsp;</span></span></p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Develops plans to increase market share of assigned product or market through communications with municipal government officials, consulting engineers, engineering firms, and utility companies</li> <li>Seeks out and researches prospective projects through established sales channels and recommends the development of alternate sales channels</li> <li>Drives the process for major project pursuit developing sales strategies with inside sales and representative network</li> <li>Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key purchasing influences</li> <li>Keeps company management informed of business conditions that may affect assigned products or markets</li> <li>Provides external leadership for the assigned product or market by actively participating in trade shows, equipment seminars, and training activities</li> <li>Ensures that profit margins are maximized for the assigned product</li> <li>Works with marketing and promotion, including advertising, review media, specials sales, and subsidiary rights</li> <li>Tracks status of projects including reporting spreadsheets</li> <li>Maintains close contact with client&rsquo;s key person throughout the project development stage, proposal stage, and the final selection process</li> <li>Procures RFQ, RFP, and bid documents</li> <li>Completes bid forms, bond requests, contract checklists, etc. including expediting appropriate corporate signatures</li> <li>Attends pre-bids and site meetings</li> <li>Assists in the development of written materials, proposals, and price quotations</li> <li>Assists in presenting proposals to potential clients</li> <li>Assists in project start-up to ensure all key elements of the proposal are met</li> <li>Performs follow-up with clients to ensure the operating contract and performance is satisfactory</li> <li>Assists in evaluation of lost projects to increase contract wins</li> <li>Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Effective written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Strong business development and sales experience</li> <li>Proficiency in Word and Excel</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><em>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</em></strong></p> <p>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and 5-10 years related experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience</p> <p><strong><em>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</em></strong></p> <p>None<br /><br /></p> <p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p> <p>Requires some overnight travel.
