Overview: <br />The Health &amp; Safety Advisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing US-wide activities with respect to Health and Safety including safety training, auditing, reporting, and emergency planning.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Audit and inspection of facilities across North America</li> <li>Produce action plans to address deficiencies noted in audits</li> <li>Provide training to Regional Safety focal points and assist with compliance to Health and Safety Standards and OSHAS 18001</li> <li>Develop training needs analysis and produce training programs</li> <li>Manage contractor safety program</li> <li>Assist with fleet safety program and claims managements</li> <li>Assist site management with Health and Safety needs</li> <li>Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong organizational skills</li> <li>Demonstrated effective communication skills both oral and written</li> <li>Proficiency in the use of personal computers</li> <li>Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision</li> <li>Bilingual &ndash; English/Spanish</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and 18001</li> <li>Previous experience with development of Standard Operating Procedures</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><em>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</em></strong></p> <p>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and 5-10 years of experience in safety management or an equivalent combination of education and experience</p> <p><strong><em>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</em></strong></p> <p>Valid driver&rsquo;s license</p> <p>CSP, ASP, or safety certification preferred<br /><br /></p> <p><strong><u>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</u></strong></p> <p>Ability to travel 60% of the time</p> <p>**Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions</p>
