Overview: <br /> <p style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">The Plant/Operations Manager/Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance activities of a wastewater plant, collection system, and customer service department.</span></p> <p style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Connecticut Grade III Wastewater license required with ability to obtain a Grade IV Wastewater within 24 months of hire.</span></p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Leads his/her team of operators in all aspects of people management including:&nbsp; hiring, orientation/onboarding, performance management, salary changes, promotions, training and development, transfers, and terminations. Monitors and reviews staff work and coaches appropriate improvement.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Ensures that all SOPs are followed, ensures DOT, OSHA, and other requirements are met.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Conducts plant inspections and communicates with maintenance group about maintenance, repairs, etc.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Responsible for regulatory report, process control operations, data entry, and compliance; Creates monthly regulatory and operations reports.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Assesses operational performance and implements continuous improvements.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Other duties as assigned.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p style="line-height: normal;"><strong><em><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Education/Experience</span></em></strong><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">: BA/BS in related field and 5-7 years water/wastewater experience. Five years previous supervisory experience required.</span></p> <p style="line-height: normal;"><strong><em><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Licenses/Certifications</span></em></strong><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">: Valid Driver&rsquo;s License (CDL preferred). Wastewater Operator&rsquo;s License specific to state and site-specific requirements (CT Grade III). Other licenses may vary according to specific sites and assignments.</span></p> <p style="line-height: normal;"><strong><em><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">Technical</span></em></strong><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Roboto;">: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications &amp; internet. Familiar with HACH WIMs DMS database. Ability to work with basic office equipment &amp; phone systems. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, DOT regulations &amp; Utility SOPs. Proficiency completing all regulatory documentation, reports, and correspondence.
