Overview: Responsible for providing accurate and timely HR advice to all levels of employee within a specific geographic region. This includes providing guidance and support to management on all issues involving employees including labor relations, employment, staffing/planning, compliance, information systems, etc. Required to build relationships with management to contribute and assist in the business needs, as necessary.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;</strong>include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Builds relationships and provides advice and guidance to all levels of employee on issues such as staffing, absence management, implementation and use of company policies, performance improvement, appraisals and employee relations issues</li> <li>Interprets company policies, procedures and programs.&nbsp; Ensures consistent procedures are in place and that company applies policies uniformly</li> <li>Develops HR practices and processes under guidance to ensure consistency and fit</li> <li>Performs investigations and assists in dispute resolution between employees and/or management supporting progressive discipline process</li> <li>Facilitates absence management, including return to work processes and Occupational Health</li> <li>Delivers and coordinates management and employee training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, performance reviews, systems, and other relevant topics</li> <li>Supports major organizational change, such as acquisitions and restructuring programs</li> <li>Utilizes and promotes the use of HR technology</li> <li>Works with outside vendors in area of responsibility to ensure effective and efficient service delivery</li> <li>Assists managers with the recruiting process</li> <li>Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to the essential job functions</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong><br /><br /> <ul> <li>Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred</li> <li>Technical: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, HRIS systems, and internet. Ability to identify and use recruiting best practices. Demonstrates working knowledge of employment law, general HR practices and technology. Knowledge of payroll practices and systems</li> <li>Communication: Communicates clearly &amp; professionally. Contributes to a positive internal &amp; external customer experience. Maintains composure in challenging situations. Collaborates with others. Asks for constructive feedback. Communicates detailed information.</li> <li>Problem Solving &amp; Quality: Must be a self-starter and able to deal effectively with confidential and sensitive information. Pays attention to detail. Identifies &amp; solves complex issues. Escalates issues accordingly; Checks work for quality. Shares suggestions to improve quality &amp; productivity. Takes charge in absence of supervisor.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Degree or equivalent and typically three to five years&rsquo; experience in a Generalist role</li> </ul> <br /><strong>CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</strong><br /><br /> <ul> <li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license</li> <li>PHR preferred</li> </ul> <br /><strong>TRAVEL</strong><br /><br /> <ul> <li>10%. Must be able to travel daily to local sites and accommodate occasional overnight travel.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong><br /><br />The work environment is characteristic of an office environment: sitting, standing, walking, bending and lifting are required to perform job responsibilities.
