Overview: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for compiling payroll data to maintain payroll and tax records.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, insurance deductions, and general deductions to be withheld from earnings</li> <li>Prepares computer input forms, enters data into HRIS and computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records</li> <li>Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll</li> <li>Records changes affecting new wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, car allowances, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records</li> <li>Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments or business units</li> <li>Keeps records of leave pay and severance payments to terminated employees</li> <li>Prepares and issues paychecks using ADP&rsquo;s Enterprise V3</li> <li>Works with accounting department to reconcile payroll bank accounts</li> <li>Reviews and analyzes all facets of the time template presented by the field liaisons to ensure accuracy of data</li> <li>Monitors incoming new W4 forms and other paperwork to ensure compliance with IRS guidelines</li> <li>Performs report calculations for union dues where applicable</li> <li>Escalates issues to payroll manager as needed</li> <li>Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions</li> </ul>
